In 1971, Baton Broadcasting Incorporated was formed and over the next 26 years, the company acquired numerous television stations and assets that would form the CTV television network. In 2007, CTV Inc. acquired six A-Channel stations through the purchase of CHUM Limited. In 2011, /A\ network was rebranded as CTV Two.
CTV has been the most-watched and #1 television network in Canada for more than 10 years. Additionally, CTV's TV stations now broadcast the top-ranked local newscasts in 9 of the 12 major Canadian markets. Combined CTV and CTV Two reach more than 25 million viewers each week.

The most ambitious media initiative in Canadian history, the unprecedented multiplatform, multilingual coverage achieved ratings records, delivering the most-watched programming in the history of Canadian television.
