The summer dredging season has officially kicked off in Nome, Alaska – ground zero of the great American gold rush. With warmer weather, brings jam-packed claims, unexpected storms and rising temperatures where gold fever is a family affair. Summertime in Nome brings a flood of miners all staking claim to what was once a closely kept secret – two small gold-rich areas off the coast of Alaska. With more competition and a short Alaskan summer, the miners battle treacherous conditions and each other in hopes of finding gold. But how much can they push their crews before major injury – or even death – strikes?

GOLD RUSH – Season 4 Premiere (Discovery, Reality TV)

For three seasons a golden pay day had evaded the GOLD RUSH gold mining teams led by Todd Hoffman, Parker Schnabel, and “Dakota” Fred Hurt. These men and their crews battled against equipment breakdowns, infighting, and rough weather. This season, Todd Hoffman puts his life on the line, and asks his crew to do the same, braving malaria, poisonous snakes and quicksand to set up a mining operation in a patch of hostile jungle deep in Guyana, South America. PIT BULLS AND PAROLEES follows Tia Maria Torres, renowned pit bull trainer and founder of Villalobos Rescue Center, as she unites pit bulls and parolees in a mission to rescue both from their troubled pasts. In the wake of Moregon’s death, Big Foster (David Morse) orders her Kinnah (Gillian Alexy) followers to be held until G’Win gets better todecide their fate. Doubting her own future as she struggles with her self-inflicted stab wound, G’Win tells Big Foster to free them. Meanwhile, Wade (Thomas M. Wright) tries getting word to the Farrells that Lil Foster (Ryan Hurst) is alive and being transferred to state prison for the murder of a white supremacist gang leader, only to find his access to Shay Mountain cut off by state-ordered patrols.

From MTV, eight loud and proud Geordie lads and lasses promise to show viewers a summer they’ll never forget! A GIRL IN THE RIVER: THE PRICE OF FORGIVENESS – Documentary Premiere – (The HBO Collection, Documentaries)

Nominated for a 2016 Academy Award® for Best Documentary Short, this 40-minute documentary follows the story of Saba, a young woman from the Punjab region of Pakistan, who was shot and left for dead by her father and uncle after marrying Qaiser, a man once promised to her by her family. Told through the lens of a true love story, the film is a scathing examination of the contradictions between modernism and tradition within Pakistani society, as Saba struggles with pressures to “forgive” the relatives who tried to kill her – a pronouncement that would set them free. In this masterful work of high-risk journalistic storytelling, award-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Saving Face) uncovers the complex and violent forces faced by women in Pakistan, particularly as it relates to human rights and family honour.

In the second season, Angie (Rashida Jones, PARKS AND RECREATION) and the detectives of the LAPD will investigate the murder of a sushi chef, the death of the “bad boy” in a boy band who gets decapitated by a t-shirt cannon, and a band of drug-dealing lifeguards. In addition, they will tackle a difficult case with the help of a romance novelist.

99 p.m. ET, day and date with SHOWTIME – AMERICAN JIHAD – Documentary Premiere (Showtime, Documentaries)

Showtime Documentary Films teamed with Alex Gibney and Peter Berg’s Film 45 for a new film certain to spark debate. Titled AMERICAN JIHAD, the Alison Ellwood-helmed documentary explores the phenomenon of home-grown jihadism as well as how young men are radicalized to commit terrorist acts and what can be done to prevent it.

10 p.m. ET – CRAVETV FIRST LOOK: SAVING HOPE – Season 5, Episode1 (Dramas, All Canadian)

Picking up in the aftermath of the heart-stopping Season 4 finale, in which a vengeful Tom Crenshaw (Travis Milne, ROOKIE BLUE) appeared at the Hope Zion Hospital Fellowship Awards and fired a shot at Alex (Erica Durance) and Charlie (Michael Shanks), Season 5 of SAVING HOPE sees the Hope Zion staff thrust into turmoil. As Alex faces a big decision, her fellow doctors deal with new challenges as changes come to Hope Zion that will not only affect the livelihood of the hospital, but also its doctors and everything they hold dear.

MOONSHINERS – Season 3 Premiere (Discovery, Reality TV, If You Liked Outsiders)

Moonshining, a multi-million dollar industry based on a practice that precedes the founding fathers, brings shiners from all across Appalachia, and as far south as Mississippi, who are working with the elements to create the stuff of legends. EVERYTHING IS COPY – Documentary Premiere (The HBO Collection, Documentaries)

EVERYTHING IS COPY profiles the life of Nora Ephron, the writer and director who was known for her acerbic wit and whose films include such cultural touchstones as Silkwood, When Harry Met Sally, and Sleepless in Seattle.  Written and directed by her son, Jacob Bernstein, the 89-minute film is Bernstein’s personal investigation into his mother’s favorite motto, “Everything is copy” – a philosophy that all that happens in life, good and bad, is fodder for comedy.  The film features intimate interviews with many of those closest to Ephron, including her sisters Delia, Amy and Hallie, along with friends Meryl Streep, Meg Ryan, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, and many others.

EVERYTHING IS COPY profiles the life of Nora Ephron, the writer and director who was known for her acerbic wit and whose films include such cultural touchstones as Silkwood, When Harry Met Sally, and Sleepless in Seattle.  Written and directed by her son, Jacob Bernstein, the 89-minute film is Bernstein’s personal investigation into his mother’s favorite motto, “Everything is copy” – a philosophy that all that happens in life, good and bad, is fodder for comedy.  The film features intimate interviews with many of those closest to Ephron, including her sisters Delia, Amy and Hallie, along with friends Meryl Streep, Meg Ryan, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, and many others.
