Bell Media’s Harold Greenberg Fund Announces Script Development Support for 33 Canadian Film Projects

TORONTO (February 1, 2017) – As the Canadian film and television community gathers for the Canada Media Production Association’s Prime Time in Ottawa conference, Bell Media’s Harold Greenberg Fund today announced its support for 33 Canadian film projects through the Fund’s Script Development Program. The slate includes films in all stages of script development, from story optioning and first and second drafts, to final drafts, and polish and packaging.

Highlights include: Stockholm, the next feature film from Born to Be Blue director Robert Budreau, starring Ethan Hawke and Noomi Rapace, based on the real events behind the phrase “Stockholm Syndrome”; The Resource, from the writer/producer team behind Mean Dreams, which was recently screened as part of Movie Nights Across Canada, a national screening event launched by the Minister of Canadian Heritage in honour of the 150th anniversary of Confederation; sophomore features from Rhymes for Young Ghouls director Jeff Barnaby (Blood Quantum), and Bang Bang Baby director Jeffrey St Jules (Panther!); a dramatic feature version of The Skyjacker’s Tale, based on the Jamie Kastner-directed documentary, currently in theatrical release; and the next film from Canadian iconoclast Guy Maddin, Fur Country.
