CraveTV Becomes the First Canadian Streaming Service to Offer Chromecast Capability

– Chromecast enhances CraveTV experience by allowing subscribers to cast CraveTV to their TVs from Android and iOS phones and tablets, as well as laptops using Chrome browsers –

CraveTVTM  is the first Canadian streaming service to be compatible with Google Chromecast, it was announced today. The launch of CraveTV on Chromecast is the latest in a series of platform releases for CraveTV. Canadians can now cast CraveTV’s entire library of premium television programming onto their TVs from iOS and Android apps. Chromecast, a thumb-sized device, is plugged into HDMI ports on TVs, allowing viewers to seamlessly pause, play, rewind, and fast-forward their favourite CraveTV series from their mobile device, as well from www.CraveTV.ca in the Chrome browser.

As announced earlier this year, CTV GO became the first TVE product from a Canadian broadcaster to work with Google Chromecast. CraveTV is the next service with Chromecast functionality, with more Bell Media digital brands to become compatible with Chromecast in the future.

“Our goal is to give CraveTV subscribers the ability to view its great programming whenever and wherever they choose,” said Domenic Vivolo, Executive Vice-President, Content Sales, and Distribution Marketing, Bell Media. “By delivering CraveTV through Chromecast onto their televisions, CraveTV becomes even more valuable to its subscribers.”

“We’re excited to see CraveTV utilize the power of Chromecast with their new apps and site,” said Suveer Kothari, Director of Chromecast Partnerships, Google. “Chromecast makes it easy to catch up on content you care about, and CraveTV is leading the industry by providing viewers with the choice to stream video content straight to the biggest screen in their house – their television.”

CraveTV will become available on additional platforms in the near future, giving subscribers further access to its catalogue of thousands of hours of premium TV programming, including HBO’s entire off-air library and the SHOWTIME collection, both exclusive to CraveTV. Along with exclusive programming from Amazon Studios, Lionsgate, Twentieth Century Fox, and more.
