“It’s a very exciting time to be bringing people their news,” said Paul Karwatsky, Anchor, CTV NEWS AT FIVE. “At 5 p.m., the day is just starting to wind down, and many stories are still developing. That’s when we’ll come in with live, local, and breaking news, telling stories in a dynamic and conversational way that will allow us to go in-depth and expand on the issues that are most important to our viewers.”

“Montrealers already turn to CTV Montreal more than any other English-language newscast in our city, and now they’ll be able to turn to us first,” said Jed Kahane, News Director, CTV Montreal. “At 5 p.m., we’ll launch into a comprehensive two-hour block of local, national, and international news to make sure people get all the news they need from the team they trust.”

CTV Montreal joins the six CTV stations already delivering CTV NEWS AT FIVE (CTV Vancouver, CTV Calgary, CTV Red Deer, CTV Edmonton, CTV Lethbridge, and CTV Atlantic), with all-new editions of the newscast being added to the following local station lineups:

CTV Saskatoon
CTV Prince Albert
CTV Regina
CTV Yorkton
CTV Winnipeg
CTV Northern Ontario
CTV Kitchener
CTV Ottawa

Locally, viewers on average watch more hours of news on CTV than anywhere else. CTV’s evening newscasts are Top 5 programs in the majority of their local markets.
