Macy; plus new docuseries DARK NET about the deep web produced by technology and media company Vocativ, and THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE GREATEST POLITICAL SHOW ON EARTH, which pulls back the curtain on the 2016 presidential race.

Additional information about new SHOWTIME programming on The Movie Network in January is outlined below (in chronological order):

SHAMELESS, Season 6 (Comedy Series)
Premieres Sunday, Jan. 10 at 9 p.m. ET, day-and-date with SHOWTIME in the U.S.
Starring William H. Macy as patriarch Frank Gallagher and Golden Globe® nominee Emmy Rossum as daughter and family leader Fiona, the new season of SHAMELESS catches up with the Gallaghers as they hit a new groove while major changes attempt to pull the tight-knit clan apart. Season 6 picks up a few months after the Season 5 finale, as the Gallaghers prepare for yet another long Chicago winter. This season will see more than just the arctic Lake Michigan winds whipping through the Southside. Change is hard and the Gallaghers are as surprised as anyone at how life is turning out for them. But the question remains, as they come into their own and find out who they are, is it really possible that the Gallaghers could grow apart for good?

The series also stars Jeremy Allen White, Ethan Cutkosky, Shanola Hampton, Steve Howey, Emma Kenney, and Cameron Monaghan. Based on the long-running hit U.K. series, the series is executive produced by Emmy-winning television and film producer John Wells, Andrew Stearn, Christopher Chulack, Davey Holmes, Nancy M. Pimental and Krista Vernoff. For a look at the new season of SHAMELESS, click HERE.

BILLIONS (Drama Series)
– Premieres Sunday, Jan. 17 at 10 p.m. ET, day-and-date with SHOWTIME in the U.S.
– Also begins streaming Sunday, Jan. 17 on CraveTV,  joining
The SHOWTIME Collection
Set amongst the Machiavellian machinations of New York City power politics and finance, BILLIONS weaves an intricate narrative featuring a high-stakes game of predator-versus-prey as it follows two highly ambitious opposing figures: hard-charging, blue-blooded, politically connected U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) and brilliant, calculating, blue-collar billionaire hedge fund king, Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Damian Lewis). The series also stars Maggie Siff (MAD MEN), Canadian actress Malin Akerman (The Proposal), Toby Leonard Moore (DAREDEVIL), David Costabile (SUITS), and Condola Rashad (Steel Magnolias).

The series is created, written, and executive produced by Brian Koppelman and David Levien (Ocean’s Thirteen), and Andrew Ross Sorkin (TOO BIG TO FAIL). Sorkin is a financial columnist for the New York Times and the film based on his book Too Big to Fail is currently available on CraveTV. The pilot was helmed by acclaimed director Neil Burger (The Illusionist, Divergent), who also serves as an executive producer. For a look at BILLIONS, click HERE.

DARK NET (Documentary Series)
– Premieres Thursday, Jan. 21 at 11 p.m. ET, day-and-date with SHOWTIME in the U.S.
– Entire season will also join CraveTV’s exclusive SHOWTIME Collection (Date to be announced)
Produced by Vocativ, this provocative eight-part half-hour series reveals the stories of a dramatically changing, digitally connected world, exploring the netherworld where virtual and physical lives collide in ways surprising, disturbing, and seemingly inevitable. In contrast to much of the mainstream media, DARK NET reveals a more ominous and disturbing perspective of a digitally connected world where our every action is collected and stored. The series is developed and produced by Vocativ, a technology and media company that applies exclusive proprietary technology to search and monitor the deep web, the 80 percent of the internet that lies beyond the reach of regular search engines.

Each episode sheds light on themes such as bio-hacking, cyber-kidnapping, digital warfare, online cults, pornography addiction, the webcam sex trade, and more. Originally used as a hidden space for the intelligence community to meet online outside of the general public’s eye, the dark web is now being exploited by a dangerous underworld of cyber predators and criminals. Imprisoned hackers and trolls secretly surf alongside bondage fetishists, virtual lovebirds, and life-tracking disciples. DARK NET unveils the dangers of the Internet’s unchecked shadow, raising cautionary, thought-provoking conversations about technology, privacy and how new, ever-expanding platforms are changing the way we live for the better and for worse. The series is created by Vocativ Founder Mati Kochavi and is executive produced by Danna Rabin, Vivian Schiller for Vocativ, and David Shadrack Smith for Part2 Productions.

THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE GREATEST POLITICAL SHOW ON EARTH (Documentary Series)
– Premieres January 2016, day-and-date with SHOWTIME in the U.S. (Date to be announced in the coming weeks)
– Entire season will also join CraveTV’s exclusive SHOWTIME Collection (Date to be announced)

The real-time documentary series will pull back the curtain on the 2016 presidential race, revealing the intense, irreverent, inspiring, and infuriating stories behind the headlines of what promises to be one of the most fascinating and consequential elections in modern history. Premiering in advance of the Iowa caucuses, the series will deliver the stories as they are happening and examine what really goes on behind the carefully constructed facade of a presidential campaign in real time. Following multiple individual stories and key characters from the campaigns, the series captures their unique perspectives in weekly half-hour shows between January and November.

THE CIRCUS: INSIDE THE GREATEST POLITICAL SHOW ON EARTH is produced by Left/Right (a part of Red Arrow Entertainment Group) for SHOWTIME. Mark Halperin, John Heilemann, Mark McKinnon, Banks Tarver, and Ken Druckerman serve as executive producers. For a look at the series click HERE.
