TORONTO (March 3, 2016) – With a decorated field of competitors that includes 16 previous champions and 30 collective titles, the TIM HORTONS BRIER makes its return to Canada’s capital this weekend. TSN delivers expanded multi-sheet coverage of the Canadian men’s curling championship, one of 60+ championship events that live on TSN.

With multiple feature draws airing at the same time throughout the preliminary round, TSN delivers more than 100 hours of live TIM HORTONS BRIER coverage across its five national feeds. The action begins with Draw #1 on Saturday, March 5 at 2:30 p.m. ET and culminates with the Final on Sunday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. ET (see below for complete broadcast schedule).

TSN’s acclaimed broadcast team calls the action live from Ottawa’s TD Place Arena. The team is led by Canada’s iconic curling voice Vic Rauter, two-time TIM HORTONS BRIER champion and Olympic gold medallist Russ Howard, and Olympic medallist Cheryl Bernard. TSN’s Bryan Mudryk also calls morning draws alongside three-time Scotties winner Cathy Gauthier, and afternoon and evening draws alongside four-time TIM HORTONS BRIER champion David Nedohin.

The field for the 2016 TIM HORTONS BRIER is arguably the most decorated and talented in the history of the event. Pat Simmons and his Calgary rink return as Team Canada in search of their third straight national title (and second with John Morris), but will be opposed by some of the world’s best rinks.

Northern Ontario’s Brad Jacobs (BRIER, Olympic champion), Newfoundland and Labrador’s Brad Gushue (Olympic champion, 2015-16 money leader), Kevin Koe of Alberta (two-time BRIER champion), Ontario’s Glenn Howard (four-time BRIER winner, four-time world champion), and Québec’s Jean-Michel Ménard (BRIER champion) will compete at TD Place Arena. Not to mention Mike McEwen of Manitoba making his first appearance in the tournament, as well as solid rinks led by Saskatchewan’s Steve Laycock and British Columbia’s Jim Cotter, who are also playing for the right to represent Canada at the world championships.

Following the TIM HORTONS BRIER, TSN heads to Swift Current, Sask. to deliver exclusive live coverage of the 2016 FORD WORLD WOMEN’S CURLING CHAMPIONSHIP, running March 19-27, 2016 at the Credit Union i-Plex.
