As President, Media Sales, Marketing, and TSN, Stewart Johnston oversees the leadership and strategic direction of Bell Media’s national advertising sales across all platforms, including TV, radio, out-of-home, and digital properties.

Leading a combined sales force of more than 1,000 employees across the country, Johnston was instrumental in the January 2019 launch of Bell Media’s best-in-class Strategic Audience Management (SAM) tool, revolutionizing the media buying process for advertisers. Johnston also leads Bell Media’s award-winning in-house creative agency, and TSN, Canada’s Sports Leader and most-watched specialty channel, and one of North America’s most influential sports media networks.

Since being appointed President of TSN in 2010, Johnston has secured exclusive long-term multi-media agreements with some of the most high-profile properties in sports, including the CFL, NFL, Curling Canada, Hockey Canada, including the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships, and many more. Under Johnston’s leadership, TSN expanded to five national feeds, and remains the country’s most-watched specialty broadcast network, attracting record audiences for a slate of major properties. Johnston is regularly recognized by The Hockey News among its prestigious Top 100 People of Power and Influence countdown.

Johnston serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Special Olympics Canada, and also serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Hockey Hall of Fame. In addition, he sits on the Board of Directors of Numeris and Think TV.

An Ottawa native, Johnston holds an honours business degree from Queen’s University.
