TORONTO (August 28, 2018) – CTV truly has something for every viewer this season, as the network confirmed today its fall premiere dates, featuring a primetime schedule filled with Hollywood’s hottest, big-buzz new series and returning, can’t-miss, fan-favourites bursting with compelling stories and unforgettable characters. The 2018/2019 television season kicks off with the THE 70th EMMY AWARDS on Monday, Sept. 17, live across the country at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, exclusively on CTV.

This fall, Monday on CTV is solidified with MAGNUM P.I. and THE RESIDENT, while Tuesday is home to this season’s biggest new drama THE ROOKIE and highly anticipated new family comedy THE CONNERS, a spin-off of this year’s hit revival ROSEANNE. In addition, Canada’s favourite TV programs THE BIG BANG THEORY, YOUNG SHELDON, THE GOOD DOCTOR, THIS IS US, and more return to CTV’s primetime slate.

New Series on CTV this Fall:

Premiere week (Sept. 24-28) begins with the sophomore season of break-out medical drama THE RESIDENT, starring Matt Czuchry (THE GOOD WIFE) and Canada’s Emily VanCamp (REVENGE), premiering Monday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, before settling into its regular Mondays at 8 p.m. ET timeslot on Oct. 1.

Then, #MagnumMondays on CTV continue with this season’s most fun-filled and action-packed dramas, MAGNUM P.I.. Premiering Monday, Sept. 24 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, the reboot of the classic series stars Jay Hernandez as ex-Navy SEAL turned private eye Thomas Magnum.

The humorous and uplifting new aspirational drama GOD FRIENDED ME, starring Brandon Micheal Hall, airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, beginning Sept. 30 (click here for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the new series).

The premieres continue in October with THE ALEC BALDWIN SHOW, airing Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, beginning Oct. 14. The new primetime interview series features the three-time Emmy Award-winner and his whip-smart brand of humour while in conversation with compelling personalities.

Marking the return of Canada’s Nathan Fillion (CASTLE) to primetime TV as a man who pursues his dream of joining the LAPD in the midst of a mid-life awakening, the sought-after and big-buzz new cop series THE ROOKIE (Oct. 16) airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, beginning Oct. 16. Also on Tuesdays, the new family comedy THE CONNERS (Oct. 16), a spin-off of this year’s hit revival ROSEANNE, premieres Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, followed by the family-focused, single-camera 1970s-era comedy THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT (Oct. 16) at 8:30 p.m. ET/ PT on CTV.

Returning Series on CTV:

Canada’s #1 series for eight straight years, THE BIG BANG THEORY returns for its 12th and final season on a special day and time, Monday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, followed by the sophomore season of the Sheldon Cooper backstory family comedy and last year’s #1 new series, YOUNG SHELDON, which also returns on a special day and time at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT. Both THE BIG BANG THEORY and YOUNG SHELDON settle into their regular Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET and 8:30 p.m. ET respective timeslots on Sept. 27, with brand new episodes.

A weekly house call caps off Mondays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, with the return of Canada’s #1 drama, THE GOOD DOCTOR (Sept. 24), starring Freddie Highmore, whose role as surgical resident Shaun Murphy earned him a Golden Globe® nomination earlier this year.

In celebration of THE GOLDBERGS’ movie-homage tradition of episodes and in anticipation of the new season, five back-to-back movie-themed episodes from the series’ past seasons will air Wednesday, Sept. 19, beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET on CTV2. The list includes the series’ tribute episodes of The Goonies, The Princess Bride, Risky Business, Dirty Dancing, and The Breakfast Club.
