CTV Announces the 2018 Saskatoon Citizen of the Year

– Saskatoon Citizen of the Year Award marks 52 years of recognizing excellence in community service –

SASKATOON (December 31, 2018) – CTV Saskatoon announced today that James Yuel will receive the 2018 Saskatoon Citizen of the Year Award. As announced tonight during CTV NEWS AT SIX, Yuel will accept the award at a reception early in 2019.

“Throughout his life, James has used his talents and knowledge as a successful business leader to enrich our community,” said Jeff Bollenbach, General Manager, Manitoba/Saskatchewan, Radio and Television, Bell Media, who made the announcement during this evening’s newscast. “His contributions to many organizations and foundations have had a lasting impact on Saskatoon and its residents and we thank him for his dedication.”

Yuel is a founding member of the Saskatoon Regional and Economic Development Authority and has served on the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce. His expertise and contributions have strengthened numerous and essential community institutions, including the Ronald MacDonald House, Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation, Persephone Theatre, and Saskatoon Tribal Council’s Youth Entrepreneurship Program.

The Saskatoon Citizen of the Year Award presented by CTV is an annual tradition now in its 52nd year. Each November, CTV Saskatoon accepts nominations from viewers for the Saskatoon Citizen of the Year Award and at the end of December, presents the award to an individual who exemplifies excellence in community service.
