CTV News’ Election Coverage Wins the Hour Monday

– CP24 was Toronto’s most-watched channel yesterday, with live election special YOUR VOTE 2018 reaching nearly 2 million unique viewers –

TORONTO (October 23, 2018) – CTV News’ municipal election special was the most-watched television program in the 8-9 p.m. hour last night in the Toronto-Hamilton market, overnight data from Numeris confirms, with an average audience of 285,000 viewers, leading its nearest conventional competitor by 32%.

Meanwhile, CP24 was Toronto’s most-watched channel overall on Monday, with its live special YOUR VOTE 2018 reaching nearly 2 million unique viewers from 7-11:30 p.m. ET, and peaking with 561,000 viewers.

CTV News was Toronto’s definitive choice for election recap coverage, as Monday’s edition of CTV NEWS AT 11:30 garnered a combined 2.4 rating among viewers in the key A25-54 demographic on CTV Toronto and CP24, three times the audience of its closest competitor.

CTV News platforms were the prime digital destination for comprehensive election updates and results, with Monday’s election coverage generating more than 2.5 million page views (122% more than the daily average), and more than 1 million visits (88% more than the daily average).

CTV News was also the first news organization to declare John Tory’s re-election victory as mayor of Toronto at 8:24 p.m. ET.
