HALIFAX (December 4, 2018) – ‘Tis the season to give back! On Thursday, Dec. 6 and Friday, Dec. 7, iHeartRadio Canada’s C100 takes the show on the road for the annual C100 Toy Drive, broadcasting live from local Cineplex Cinemas locations to collect new, unwrapped toys and financial donations in support of The Salvation Army, making the season brighter for families across the region.

Kicking off Thursday, Dec. 6 at 6 a.m. AT, C100’s morning team JC, Peter, and Melody Rose broadcast live-on-location from Cineplex Cinemas Dartmouth Crossing (145 Shubie Drive), delivering frequent collection updates as donations come in, followed by Melinda Barkhouse from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. AT and K8 Milton from 1 – 7 p.m. AT.

The C100 Toy Drive continues on Friday, Dec. 7 from 6 a.m – 7 p.m. AT, live from Cineplex Scotiabank Theatre in Bayers Lake (190 Chain Lake Drive).

“We are so pleased to continue our partnership with The Salvation Army to make a difference in our community,” said Trent McGrath, Vice-President and General Manager, CTV Atlantic and Bell Media Radio Atlantic. “We’re grateful for our listeners who have generously contributed to this annual tradition for more than 20 years.”

Throughout the live, two-day toy drive, C100 listeners are encouraged to drop off new, unwrapped toys or make a financial donation at either Cineplex Cinemas location or online.

C100’s annual toy drive kicked off at this year’s Holiday Parade of Lights, where the station’s on-air hosts and staff collected toy donations from spectators along the parade route to be distributed to families across the Maritime provinces this holiday season.

For more than two decades, the C100 Toy Drive has been a highly anticipated annual event and has collected thousands of toys for local families. Media are encouraged to attend at any point throughout the event.
