Skip Sunday Meal Prep with Five Time-Saving Kitchen Tips for Busy Work Weeks

Sundays are meant for hitting the snooze button and resting up for the week ahead – not for meal prep! In Gusto’s newest original series, PRESSURE’S ON, premiering Friday January, 11 at 10 p.m. ET, host Vanessa Gianfrancesco (ONE WORLD KITCHEN) helps viewers take back their Sundays as she cooks her way from Monday to Thursday with easy weeknight recipes for busy days. Using just one multi-cooker pot, Vanessa has mastered time-saving dishes and techniques to help people spend less time in the kitchen and more time doing what they choose.

In celebration of Vanessa’s delectable time-saving recipes in PRESSURE’S ON, here are five additional tips to help cut down time spent in the kitchen during workweeks:

  1. Double up on ingredients

Cook once and make extra to save for weekday lunches or dinner leftovers.

  1. Clean dishes while you cook

Wash dirty dishes as the sauce is simmering or as the pasta is cooking – it makes post-meal clean up less daunting.

  1. Invest in time-saving cooking appliances

Let the appliances work for you. Vanessa Gianfrancesco swears by using just one multi-cooker pot for weekday meals!

  1. Buy a good knife to chop ingredients

Chopping ingredients with a sharp knife will not only satisfy the smooth-like-butter feeling, but also save you loads of time and hand-aches.

  1. Cut down on the amount dishes to prep with

When chopping up ingredients, map out which ingredients go together and place in one bowl whether they have the same cooking time or need to be sautéed together – it will save you from the dreaded dirty dish pile-up at the end of your meal.

PRESSURE’S ON premieres Friday, Jan. 11 at 10 p.m. ET on Gusto. You can also find all of Vanessa’s recipes online at gustotv.com.
