TORONTO (November 13, 2014) – Hidden away deep beneath New York City’s Metropolitan Public Library, the secret and fantastical world of THE LIBRARIANS is revealed in the Space exclusive premiere, Sunday, Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. ET. Kicking off with two, back-to-back hour-long episodes, this 10-episode, action-packed, adventure series centres on an ancient organization tasked with protecting an unwitting world from a hidden, magical reality that exists around them. Working from their headquarters hidden below the public library, the group solves challenging mysteries, fights the supernatural, and recovers powerful ancient artifacts, including Excalibur, the Ark of the Covenant, and The Judas Chalice. THE LIBRARIANS stars Rebecca Romijn (KING & MAXWELL) as Eve Baird, a highly skilled agent responsible for protecting the team of librarians, including a bookworm turned dashing swashbuckler and veteran Librarian, Flynn Carsen, played by Noah Wyle (FALLING SKIES), a role reprised from The Librarian film series.

When the job becomes too big for veteran Librarian Flynn Carsen (Wyle) to take on alone, and with a threat to both the real and magical worlds looming, the Library recruits four new faces to assist with the workload, including Eva Baird. The three other recruits are Jake Stone (Christian Kane, LEVERAGE), a rugged oil worker with an encyclopedic knowledge of art history; the quirky Cassandra (Canadian actor Lindy Booth, Dawn of the Dead), whose intelligence goes far beyond book smarts; and Ezekiel Jones (John Kim, NEIGHBOURS), a thrill-seeking thief who works only for himself. Overseeing the newly formed team is reluctant caretaker Jenkins (John Larroquette, BOSTON LEGAL). THE LIBRARIANS includes guest appearances from Bob Newhart (NEWHART), Jane Curtin (3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN), and Matt Frewer (ORPHAN BLACK).

In the series premiere “The Librarians and the Crown of King Arthur” (Sunday, Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. ET), someone is killing off Librarians, and it is up to Flynn Carsen and his new Guardian, Colonel Eve Baird, to save them. In Episode 2, “The Librarians and the Sword in the Stone” (Sunday, Dec. 7 at 9 p.m. ET), the Serpent Brotherhood is trying to return magic to the world. Flynn, Colonel Baird, and the Librarians must stop them before it’s too late.
