TORONTO (October 13, 2016) – Final data from Numeris confirms that HBO’s latest must-watch drama series WESTWORLD delivered record-breaking final audiences of 501,500 viewers for its series premiere on Sunday, Oct. 2, marking the best performance of a series premiere in the history of Canadian Pay TV networks HBO Canada and The Movie Network. The WESTWORLD premiere edged the previous record set by the first episode of TRUE DETECTIVE in 2014 (500,400), and delivered significantly more viewers than the 2011 premiere of GAME OF THRONES (290,100). Airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/MT on HBO Canada, the sci-fi tour de force is quickly establishing itself as appointment television and has garnered acclaim from critics as it heads into Episode 3.

On the next episode of WESTWORLD (Sunday, Oct. 16 at 9 p.m. ET/MT), Elsie (Shannon Woodward, RAISING HOPE) and Stubbs (Luke Hemsworth, Infini) head into the hills in pursuit of a missing host. Teddy (James Marsden, X-Men) gets a new backstory, which sets him off in pursuit of a new villain, leaving Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood, TRUE BLOOD) alone in Sweetwater. Bernard (Jeffrey Wright, BOARDWALK EMPIRE) investigates the origins of madness and hallucinations within the hosts. William (Jimmi Simpson, THE NEWSROOM) finds an attraction he’d like to pursue and drags Logan (Ben Barnes, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader) along for the ride.
