This all-new Crave Original docuseries offers a behind-the-scenes look at the Canadian women’s team and their journey through Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025. Over four 30-minute episodes, ALL HEART: A RUGBY STORY highlights the culmination of years of sacrifice, hard work, and preparation by the women’s national team – a mix of veteran players, young rising superstars, and semi-professionals who play overseas. With unprecedented access provided by the partnership with Rugby Canada and World Rugby, audiences can witness a story of raw conviction and self-belief that transcends the sport. October 11 – HBO Original Docuseries THE PET CEMETERY MURDERS: A GHOST STORY * Premiere*

What begins as an investigation into a 1985 murder turns into a haunting exploration of a community’s dark history of violence and bloodshed. Set in the rural bayou outside New Orleans, Louisiana, a harsh landscape steeped in supernatural lore and traditions, the story starts with the disappearance of Dorothy Lou Thompson – the owner of a pet cemetery that had been built on land long rumoured to be cursed. Dorothy’s body eventually turns up wrapped in chains in the Mississippi River, raising questions about her past and the people around her. With no concrete evidence, the case goes cold until 2009 when Det. John Doran reopens the investigation, following up on old leads and digging into the case files. Unexpectedly, a witness comes forward with a terrifying tale of Dorothy’s ghost which compels him to come forward with information. Three years later, a second witness claims to be haunted by the murdered woman seeking vengeance. The vexing accounts launch a police investigation into Dorothy’s tragic past, revealing a trail of dead husbands, a domineering mother Grace, who founded the cemetery after outrunning her own criminal acts, and the long shadow of a community steeped in evil deeds that were buried but not forgotten. The three-part documentary series debuts on Sunday, Oct. 11 with one new episode streaming on subsequent Sundays.

Special to The Lede

HBO’s LANTERNS just wrapped up its season on Crave, and stars Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre were following along episode by episode, just like everyone else.

“I think I'm feeling quite emotional, to be honest with you,” Pierre said. “With that eighth and final episode coming out (Sunday), I just sort of relived it, and I don't know … I've said it a thousand times, and I'll say it a thousand times more, every single person who had a hand in this show, and every single department, everyone gave everything, and we really were like a football team. No matter what happens next, this is one of the proudest moments of my career.”

Chandler admitted, “I just watched the final episode today, and I was trying to catch up with all the twists and turns. There was a lot going on. Something that really struck me is the last scene I did with Aaron in the show. Because it’s like when you win the state championship, tears come to your eye, because all the work that you put in slams into you at one moment on the field. It happened to me this morning while watching it. I did have to gently wipe away a tear, so my wife didn't make fun of me.”

Chandler and Pierre took part in a virtual media session mere hours after the finale aired (the entire season is available now on Crave). It’s a rare thing to have the stars of a show getting together to talk about it so quickly following the last episode, but it speaks to how strongly both Chandler and Pierre feel about the project.

SPOILER ALERT: Some general details about the season are going to be discussed.

LANTERNS was far more grounded in human stories and emotions than most superhero-themed shows.

The story initially followed experienced Green Lantern Hal Jordan, played by Chandler, and new recruit John Stewart, played by Pierre, in 2016, as they investigated an incident in Rushville, Nebraska, that Hal believed had extraterrestrial undertones. Hal turned out to be right, but both he and John made risky decisions that had disastrous and deadly ramifications for the town.

After so much damage had been done, John chose not to possess the ring that he had worked his whole life to earn, because he couldn’t remember why he wanted it any more.

Then, 10 years later in 2026, the paths of Hal and John came together once again, but under very different circumstances.

“The father-son aspect of this show, for me, is just incredible,” Chandler said. “I lost my pop when I was 14. And you know, Hal had that going on with John, that father-son relationship. It became apparent while we were shooting it, that wisdom, and being able to give back a little bit. So that love story is, he won my heart over again, and I was able to do what my father would have done for me.”

With the parameters of that particular relationship in mind, Pierre acknowledged that there’s a tonal difference between the John Stewart we see in the first half of the season, and the John Stewart we see in the last half of the season.

“John's superpower, in my opinion, subjectively, is not being fearless, it's the ability to acknowledge fear and overcome it,” Pierre said. “And I hope what people catch in (episodes) 1-4 is that he sort of quietly, quite stoically, accepts the fact – maybe he doesn't articulate it – but he's like, ‘yeah, I'm not ready for the job yet.’ But he leans into it so heavily. He doesn't lean away from it. He doesn't lean away from it with arrogance, or with this delusion. He leans into it, and actively searches for ways to become everything he knows he can become, if he just makes himself the student that absorbs, versus deflecting when he doesn't know something.”

Beyond their own contributions, both Chandler and Pierre acknowledged that LANTERNS had a stellar cast from top to bottom, particularly Kelly Macdonald, who played Kerry Kane, the Rushville sheriff with multiple world-changing secrets. Other key cast members included Laura Linney as Lianna, Ulrich Thomsen as Thaal Sinestro, Jason Ritter as Billy Macon, Garret Dillahunt as Will Macon, Poorna Jagannathan as Zoe Macon, and Shea Pritchard as the teenage Noah Macon in the 2026 timeline.

To end the virtual media session on a lighter note, Chandler was asked what he would do if he had the Green Lantern’s powerful ring for 24 hours.

“I'd make a construct where everyone who is out to do bad, and not being part of the human community, the human experience, but veering too far off for themselves, or towards places they shouldn't be, would sort of fade away so you could barely see them, or their words were taken away from them, they were mute,” Chandler said. “They had no way to express themselves until they were able to be intellectually worthy to use words to speak, and to make actions. That'd be fun to do for 24 hours, just 24 hours. And maybe the TVs didn't work at the same time.”

Chandler then realized what he had said.

“No, not the TVs, we want the TVs!” he added with a smile. “Anyway, you get my point. I mean, you want HBO working, that’s for sure!”

TORONTO (October 5, 2026) – Five seasons. One unforgettable community. And one last chance for Paul to start acting good. CTV and APTN Original comedy ACTING GOOD returns for its fifth and final season on Monday, Oct. 19 with a special two-episode premiere kicking off at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV Comedy Channel and streaming next day on Crave. Subsequent new episodes air Mondays at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on CTV Comedy and stream next day on Crave. Season 5 of ACTING GOOD will also air on Oct. 20 on APTN at 10 p.m. ET and stream next day on APTN+. Filmed on location in Winnipeg and Baaskkandibewiziibing Brokenhead Ojibway Nation, Season 5 consists of 10 half-hour episodes, bringing the beloved series to a milestone 50 episodes.

Inspired by co-creator and stand-up comedian Paul Rabliaskas’ life in his fly-in first nation, in its final season, Paul’s (Paul Rabliauskas) constant immaturity and antics finally catch up with him when Rose (Cheyenna Sapp), alongside his friends and family, stages a surprise intervention at Yeah Man. When Paul refuses to see the error of his ways, Rose reaches her breaking point, forcing him to confront a hard truth: if he wants to keep the people he loves together, he’s going to have to change. What follows is a very Paul-like journey of self-improvement, complete with divorced dads, an unlikely counsellor, and a stint competing on the reality survival series The Deadliest Native. But when Paul’s transformation goes a little too far, his newfound self-righteous attitude creates problems of its own. To repair his relationships and help his community, Paul must find the balance between the person he was and the person he wants to become.

"ACTING GOOD was a show created from the heart, and we've been honoured to bring the first ever Indigenous sitcom to a major Canadian Network," said Executive Producer, Showrunner and star Paul Rabliauskas. "The show may be over but we’re hopeful that the characters and the fictional community of Grouse Lake will live on forever."

“Bringing Indigenous comedic perspectives to the screen was an extraordinary experience,” said producer Tina Keeper, who also stars as Agnes. ”Working with Paul and the dedicated creative team along with Bell Media and APTN was groundbreaking.”

“ACTING GOOD has been a landmark and incredibly special part of CTV Comedy Channel’s original programming lineup,” said Justin Stockman, Vice President, Global Content, Bell Media. “Paul and the entire creative team have created something truly unique, delivering five seasons of big laughs, heartfelt storytelling, and unforgettable characters. We couldn’t be prouder of the series and are excited to celebrate this final season with viewers, culminating in a fitting send-off for Paul and the residents of Grouse Lake.”

Guest stars for Season 5 include Leenah Robinson (40 ACRES, DON’T EVEN), Herbie Barnes (GUILT FREE ZONE, DANCE ME OUTSIDE), Victoria Sawal (THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY, STAR TREK: DISCOVERY), Glen Michael Grant (CHAOS WALKING), Crystle Lightning (TRICKSTER, THREE PINES), Chris Locke (RUN THE BURBS, WHO’S YER FATHER), Vance Banzo (TALLBOYZ), Glen Gould (TULSA KING, CASHING IN), along with returning guest stars Miss Universe 2015 and Miss Universe Canada 2024 Ashley Callingbull (BLACKSTONE, THE PRICE IS RIGHT TONIGHT). As well as Joel D. Montgrand (TRUE DETECTIVE) and a return from ACTING GOOD’s very own, Roseanne Supernault.

On the Season 5 premiere, titled “KooKoo for Kookum” (Monday, Oct. 19 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV Comedy and streaming next day on Crave and Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 10 p.m. ET and next day streaming on APTN+), Agnes (Tina Keeper) finally meets her online granddaughter, Irma (Leenah Robinson), but when Paul (Paul Rabliauskas) grows suspicious things turn deadly…and not deadly in a good way. Rose (Cheyenna Sapp) is tasked with Chief duties with Deedee (Rosanna Deerchild) on a slack year and is quickly saddled with the task of kicking some uninvited guests out of Grouse Lake.

In Part 2 of the two-episode premiere, titled “Love Eyes” (Monday, Oct. 19 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on CTV Comedy and streaming next day on Crave and Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 10:30 p.m. ET and next day streaming on APTN+), Paul tries to save his relationship from the infamously seductive, Johnny Love’eyes (Herbie Barnes). Meanwhile, Cousin Leon (Michael Greyeyes) is reunited with his estranged daughter Leona (Victoria Sawal), and Roger (Billy Merasty) has a meet cute with a hydro worker. Glen Michael Grant also guest stars as Andre.

ACTING GOOD is the #1 Canadian Scripted Series on CTV Comedy among A25-54 since the series debuted in 2022. The series has also garnered industry recognition throughout its run, including a 2024 Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Ensemble Performance in a Comedy Series, nominations from the Writers Guild of Canada and ACTRA Awards, and two Canadian Sync Award nominations. Beyond the screen, ACTING GOOD has created meaningful opportunities for dozens of Indigenous crew members to build their skills and gain valuable experience in television production, while supporting training and development across the production.

Previous seasons of ACTING GOOD are available for streaming on Crave and APTN+.

ACTING GOOD is produced by CTV Comedy Channel, in association with Kistikan Pictures Inc. and Buffalo Gal Pictures Inc., with the participation of Canada Media Fund, APTN, and Manitoba Film & Music.

Special to The Lede

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has a great haunted-house scream.

It’s so sharp, and piercing, and seemingly out of nowhere, it even makes some of her co-investigators jump back in SNOOKI: THE PARANORMAL ROOKIE, which premieres Friday, Oct. 2, with two episodes on Crave.

So has anyone ever told Snooki that she missed her calling as a so-called “scream queen?”

“Well, I'm told that I'm always loud, so I guess so,” she said. “But yeah, when I scream, I’m genuinely scared. And throughout this entire process, I was so excited to do it, because it's on my bucket list to be a paranormal investigator. But also, I was terrified, because I'd never really done something like this with pros before. So I’m already terrified going into it. Then I hear a noise. I'm on edge. So I scream a lot because I'm nervous.”

SNOOKI: THE PARANORMAL ROOKIE follows the reality-TV icon (JERSEY SHORE) as she finally leans into her lifelong connection and unwavering belief in the spirit world. With no formal paranormal training, Snooki joins an expert team – featuring internationally acclaimed psychic medium Kevin Whitaker, occult expert and historian Missy Morrow, and paranormal tech specialist Todd Thomas – as they look for ghosts (or “ghosties,” as Snooki calls them) at reportedly haunted sites across Ontario.

In a joint interview, Snooki and Whitaker set the dark and spooky scene:

Q: Snooki uses the term “ghosties” instead of “ghosts.” This show is quite creepy at times, but “ghosties” seems to cut the tension a bit. Where did that come from?

NICOLE “SNOOKI” POLIZZI: “I just feel like when it comes to ghosts, I want to treat them like I would people. So instead of trying to invade their space, and be annoying, I want to be bubbly to them, and be like, ‘hi, ghosties! I'm here. I want to chat.’ I want to bring a different vibe than the normal way that you see paranormal investigators go into it. I want the ghosts to have fun and be chill, so we can get some stuff.”

Q: Kevin, in your line of work, do you get the sense that the spirits are just messing with us a lot of the time?

KEVIN WHITAKER: “Definitely. There are times when a ghost either pretends to be something that they're not, or as we're engaging, we're not getting the entire picture all at once, and so we have to be careful that we're not presuming too much. But there are certainly those spirits who are just out to, you know, grant you a scare, or to mess around with who they are, and where they're from, those types of things. There are some spirits who give me everything, I can see them, hear them, I can identify where they're from, what time, and I feel like I have a reasonable engagement. And then there are some spirits who aren't accustomed to being connected with at all. We had one such location that had no paranormal history, and we really visited that place just to test the theory, and the spirit there caught me off guard completely, only because the presentation was frightening. I think that spirit frightened the entire crew. At one point Nicole looked at me and said, ‘are you scared?’ And I was like, ‘I'm a little bit rattled.’ It felt like it was the first time in 15, 20 years that I could honestly say that.”

Q: Even from the first episode to the second episode, Snooki seemed more comfortable with all this stuff. Is it fair to say she became less scared?

NICOLE “SNOOKI” POLIZZI: “I think I needed to get the gist of it. I went in really nervous, on top of being worried that I was going to get touched by a ghost, because I feel like I always do. Then once we did the first episode in the first location, I was like, all right, it's still scary, but I feel cozy with my co-stars, and I know they have my back, because I do get scared. So I guess I felt more comfortable as it went on, but I mean, I'm still scared. That's why I have spirit juice. Spirit juice is my wine, and I have a nice glass of wine to calm my nerves. And also I feel like when I do have a glass of wine, it opens up my third eye, which is weird. So, like, I can feel the ghosties more. I don't know, I just get more out of the experience.”

Q: Kevin, what’s the biggest misconception about what you do?

KEVIN WHITAKER: “For me personally, I find that a lot of people suppose that everything I encounter is evil or negative, or that I have a fascination with the evil or negative. And really, I'm very welcoming of that wholesome, cool, ‘Casper the Friendly Ghost’ spirit being there. I'm just fascinated by what we find out, and advancing the evidence that I think people need to see.”

Q: Was there anything about doing this show that you didn’t foresee?

NICOLE “SNOOKI” POLIZZI: “Coming from reality TV, and making sure we capture what we need to, it was way harder than I thought it would be to show what we're feeling, because sometimes you kind of have to be there to feel it. So we needed to get into the habit of saying what we were feeling out loud, or describing what we felt was around us, or what was going on, because you're not really physically getting it as a viewer unless it's on the recorders, or whatever they’re called.”

KEVIN WHITAKER: “Yeah, we have so many devices, like the SLS (Structured Light Sensor), to demonstrate a spirit in stick form. Sometimes too, adding to what Nicole was saying, we can express what we've seen, but there's a degree of, like, ‘trust me, bro.’ When we're sharing that we've had an experience with a spirit, or I've seen what I see, the audience is kind of left to believe what I've said. So it's beautiful to have Todd Thomas, he's our tech guy, come back and maybe after the investigation, after we've left a location, he's like, ‘hey, listen to what I picked up at three in the morning at this pioneer church,’ We then have the evidence supplied by him upon review.”

Q: So much of this series was essentially shot in the dark. How challenging was that?

KEVIN WHITAKER: “I'll tell you what I really appreciate about it, and it was more like a creative choice, I think, by Nicole, our executive producer, and the people behind the scenes. It’s that, rather than have the night-vision cameras that you see in most ghost-hunting shows – we're guilty of it on DARK DEALINGS as well, if you see me on YouTube, we've got the night-vision cameras and stuff – but this was shot a little bit different, with as little light cast on us as possible. I think it's important to plunge yourselves into the dark as much as we can. This one looks so different, and it's just absolutely stunning and gorgeous.”

NICOLE “SNOOKI” POLIZZI: “When we're in the club, it's dark. So I've filmed in the dark a lot (Kevin laughs). But I feel it wasn't that hard, because you have the big lights from the cameras, so you kind of see where you're going. We have the flashlights and everything. But like Kevin said, I definitely wanted a different feel than all the night-vision greens that are always on these types of shows. I wanted it to be legit. You're in the dark with us. Like, you're there. It's scary, it's spooky, and you're seeing it the way we're seeing it.”

Q: Snooki, you made a fascinating observation that one of your gauges of comfort is asking yourself, “could I sleep in this room?” Have you always had that?

NICOLE “SNOOKI” POLIZZI: “Yeah, ever since I was little growing up, I just felt things in my room, I felt things in the other room, I felt things walking down the hallway, I felt things outside. So I was never fully comfortable in a room unless, you know, I made the ambiance nice, and the blinds were shut. I just always felt like I was never alone in a room. So even now, going to hotels, just this past week I was in L.A., and I went in the hotel room, and I was like, this is creepy. I feel like somebody's here. So I always feel like there are ghosties walking around, and I never feel alone. So especially going on these ghost hunts, obviously we're not alone in these places. So I might say, ‘I don't think I could sleep in here, definitely not, the energy's heavy.’”

Q: Have you ever actually switched hotel rooms because of those feelings?

NICOLE “SNOOKI” POLIZZI: “Yeah, I think once. I think it was in L.A. a long time ago. I just couldn't sleep, and I felt like someone was staring at me. You know I love my sleep, and I wasn't getting sleep, so I actually had to switch rooms because it didn't feel cozy in that room.”

Q: Finally, what do you think are some of the best fictional representations of ghosts, in TV and movies?

NICOLE “SNOOKI” POLIZZI: “Well, I'm a zombie girl. I'm always a horror girl. So when I want to chill, I put on zombies. I put on World War Z, or THE WALKING DEAD. But when it comes to paranormal and ghosts and demons, I feel like The Conjuring (available on Crave) is one of the best, and I feel like it's the most accurate. And also, when you read about the filming of The Conjuring and the sequels, there are always crazy things that happen on set to the actors and the production crew.”

KEVIN WHITAKER: “Of the two I hold up, The Conjuring also makes my list. I love the suspense and the true paranormal, entity interaction. Also, Insidious was one that really gave me chills, because it so strikes on some of the spirit encounters that I've had that were mostly negative. I'm not much for horror/slasher-type movies. I'm just out when it comes to that. But one of my earliest loves for fiction and the paranormal was Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. I love how those spirits were introduced, especially the ghost of Christmas yet to come. It really impressed me. I'm like, ‘that's pretty dang accurate.’”
