Brockville, ON (October 8, 2013) – Brockville’s 103.7 BOB-FM and 104.9 JRfm morning shows have teamed up to give a very special thanks this holiday by hosting the first-ever 12-Hour Food Bank Fill-Up in support of The Brockville and Area Food Bank. Taking place over two days leading up to the Thanksgiving weekend, 103.7 BOB-FM’s BOB’S BREAKFAST WITH JAMIESON & JENN kicks off the “Fill-Up” on Thursday, Oct. 10, broadcasting live for 12 hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET at Real Canadian Superstore (1972 Parkdale Ave.). Then on Friday, Oct. 11, 104.9 JRfm’s THE BREAKFAST CLUB WITH BRUCE AND TAYLOR rounds out the two-day food drive and fundraiser, broadcasting live from Brett’s Value Mart in the Brockville Shopping Centre (125 Stewart Blvd.) from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.

The Brockville and Area Food Bank is a 100 per cent volunteer-run organization serving more than 525 families every month. 103.7 BOB-FM and 104.9 JRfm will be rocking out for 12 hours straight over two days to help reach the Food Bank’s goal of collecting more than 18,000 lbs. of food. Throughout each day of the 12-Hour Food Bank Fill-Up, 103.7 BOB-FM and 104.9 JRfm will provide collection effort updates on air and social media.

Volunteers from the local Rotary Club will be on hand to collect non-perishable food items and cash donations at 103.7 BOB-FM/104.9 JRfm (601 Stewart Blvd.) leading up to the event, as well as at the community broadcast locations – Real Canadian Superstore on Thursday, Oct. 10, and Brett’s Value Mart in The Brockville Shopping Centre on Friday, Oct. 11

Local dignitaries and community members, including Brockville Mayor Dave Henderson, MP Gord Brown, MPP Steve Clark, and players from local hockey sensation the Brockville Braves, are just a few of the guests expected to attend the 12-Hour Food Bank Fill-Up.

“We are proud to support our community, and it is our privilege to unite with our loyal listeners and residents across Brockville with a live-to-air, two-day event, held in the spirit of giving back,” said Scott McGregor, Program Director, Bell Media Brockville. “The 12-Hour Food Bank Fill-Up is our way of making sure every family in the Brockville area gets the chance to participate in Thanksgiving this year.”
