TORONTO (May 16, 2013) – TSN, CTV, and RDS get revved up for the start of the 2013 NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES Presented by Mobil 1, as the green flag drops on the first race of the season – the PINTY’S PRESENTS THE VORTEX BRAKE PADS 200. The race airs live this Sunday (May 19) at 1 p.m. ET on CTV, with the remaining races from the 2013 NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES airing exclusively on TSN and TSN Mobile TV, and in French on RDS (see below for a complete schedule).

The PINTY’S PRESENTS THE VORTEX BRAKE PADS 200 marks the first major event at Bowmanville, Ontario’s newly renovated Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, which now features major track and facility upgrades, including a new event and broadcast centre. Defending series champion D.J. Kennington from St. Thomas, Ontario, hits the track in search of his third NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES title, but is in tough against a field that includes Cambridge, Ontario’s J.R. Fitzpatrick – the winner of last year’s season opening race.

Featuring Canada’s top drivers, the 2013 NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES boasts a 12-race championship schedule that has teams competing on tracks in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, and Nova Scotia.

Throughout the racing season, NASCAR on TSN is driven by NASCAR Canada, a partnership between TSN and NASCAR that is responsible for the growth and commercialization of NASCAR’s Canadian sponsorship, licensing, and integrated media assets.
