— March 9, 2017
St. Catharines, Ont. (March 9, 2017) – Southern Ontario’s Best Rock 97.7 HTZ-FM announced today the addition of new Afternoon Host TJ Connors to its lineup. Connors is poised to punch up the afternoon drive on weekdays from 3-7 p.m. beginning this Monday, March 13. Connors was most recently the morning program host for Country 103 in Kamloops, B.C. where he played an active role in the community with local charity and not-for-profit initiatives. “Funny, smart, and engaging, TJ is a terrific talent and we can’t wait to introduce him to our listeners,” said Jeff Winskell, Program Director, Bell Media Radio. “We’re delighted by this strong addition to the talented HTZ-FM team, and we look forward to adding him to our daily lineup.”
“I’m thrilled to be back in St. Catharines, and can’t wait to get reacquainted with listeners across Southern Ontario,” said Connors. “I look forward to joining our listeners on the drive home on weekdays, and getting into the groove of what makes our audience tick.”
A second-generation radio talent, Connors proudly follows in the footsteps of his father, well-known broadcaster Scruff Connors who served at the same station formerly called CHTZ-FM from 1989-1992.
Prior to joining Country 103, Connors radio career took him to numerous stations across Canada, including Winnipeg’s Power 97, Vista Radio in Kelowna, B.C., 91.9 BOB FM in Lindsay, Ont., and The Wolf in Peterborough, Ont. A huge believer in supporting community initiatives where he lives and works, Connors has been on the board of the B.C. Wildlife Park and Tim Horton’s Camp Day, and handled media relations for the International Fire Fighters Games.
Connors is excited to be back in Southern Ontario with his partner Chelsea, daughter Berkeley, and a baby on the way.
