KITCHENER (June 6, 2025) –
CTV News Kitchener announced today the appointment of Alexandra Pinto as the station’s new Community Weather Host, beginning in mid-June.
Pinto’s appointment was announced in Thursday night’s newscast by former CTV News Kitchener Weather Presenter Will Aiello, who recently announced his move to a
new position with CTV MORNING LIVE in Ottawa. Viewers can watch the on-air announcement

Pinto makes her return to the CTV News Kitchener team, stepping into the Community Weather Host role with a renewed focus on highlighting the vibrant and growing communities across the region, and delivering key weather information to viewers.
A familiar face to audiences, for over a decade Pinto covered the most important stories for CTV News Kitchener as a Producer, Reporter, Host, and Anchor for CTV NEWS AT SIX, prior to stepping away from broadcasting.
“I’m thrilled to return to the CTV News Kitchener team in this new role,” said Pinto. “As Community Weather Host, I’ll be connecting with our amazing community, delivering daily weather forecasts, and sharing stories that highlight our incredible region. It’s truly a privilege to be back with this great team, and to connect with the viewers who make the Waterloo Region so special.”
“Alexandra is a seasoned broadcaster with a proven track record of serving the Waterloo Region, and we are delighted to welcome her back,” said Jennifer McLellan, General Manager, Bell Media Southwestern Ontario. “Her trusted voice, experience, exceptional skills, and genuine passion for her local community will be instrumental in ensuring CTV News Kitchener remains a leading source of information for our audience.”
“Alexandra’s passion for storytelling and deep connection to her community make her the perfect person for this role,” said Daniel Cress, News Director, CTV Kitchener. “Our entire team is excited to have her back in our newsroom. Alexandra’s ability to deliver timely, critical, and reliable information across platforms with genuine warmth will be on full display as she leads our need-to-know weather coverage and tells the stories that reflect the community we so proudly serve.”
A graduate of Fanshaw College’s Television Broadcasting and Broadcast Journalism-TV News programs, Pinto has also taught the next generation of journalists at Conestoga College as an instructor of foundational reporting, ethics, and multimedia storytelling.
