All six teams are safe in the seventh leg on Season 6 of CTV’s THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION.
To tweet this alert: https://bmpr.ca/2Mes4k9 The seventh leg of the Race ended with host Jon Montgomery revealing that all teams would remain in the competition. While Nancy and Mellisa struggled at the Face Off and found themselves arriving at the Pit Stop in last place, they were spared from elimination and will race in next week’s episode of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 8 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. MT on CTV and CTV GO. “This has lit a fire underneath my butt,” Mellisa explained to host Jon Montgomery at the Pit Stop. “We were this close to losing it, and that’s the best thing you can taste – to want it more.” “You’re not free of me yet,” Nancy said jokingly to Mellisa. *MEDIA NOTE* To download additional artwork and press materials for THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION, please visit BellMedia.ca/PR. In tonight’s episode the remaining six teams made their way on two separate flights from Toronto to Winnipeg, one of Canada’s premiere centers for art, culture, and technology. Once landed, teams had to choose a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 and drive themselves to The Canadian Museum for Human Rights. Racers had to search the museum’s 11 galleries spread out across six floors to locate white plaques containing quotes from prominent human rights activists. Then, racers made their way back to their board and had to correctly match the names and faces of each activist to their specific quote to get their next clue. After correctly identifying each quote, teams encountered a Detour where they had to choose between “Tights” or “Bites”. In “Tights,” teams made their way to The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, renowned for its captivating style and technical excellence. Here, teams had to tap into those refined trademarks by learning and performing the steps to a short sequence from Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet Swan Lake. In “Bites,” teams travelled to Skip The Dishes, a prairie start-up taking North America by storm with an app that connects local restaurants to hungry customers. Using a smartphone with the courier app, racers had to navigate the streets of Winnipeg to pick up and deliver two food orders and receive positive reviews from their customers. Teams then proceeded to The Royal Canadian Legion which was started over 90 years ago in Winnipeg. Here, teams had to compete in a head-to-head elimination style game of darts that could dramatically change their position in the race. In the season’s first Face Off, the first team to hit all 20 segments on the board won and the losing team had to wait for the next team to arrive before they could play again. Taylor and Courtney, Martina and Phil, Dylan and Kwame, and Courtney and Adam all won the Face Off on their first attempt. Nancy and Mellisa, the last team at the Face Off had to wait out a pre-determined penalty before they could keep on racing. After successfully winning the Face Off, teams made their way to Forks Market where one racer needed to learn how to perform the classic cup and ball trick with a slight of hand to wow the audience, and finish their routine by creating a balloon animal. Courtney, Leanne, Martina, Dylan, Adam, and Mellisa all entertained the crowd and mastered the illusion. From the Roadblock, all teams raced to Assiniboine Park and searched Leo Mol Sculpture Garden for host Jon Montgomery at the Pit Stop. Taylor and Courtney arrived first, winning a trip for two to New York City. Nancy and Mellisa were the last team to arrive at the Pit Stop, but were relieved when Jon revealed it was a non-elimination leg and they would continue racing in Season 6 of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA: HEROES EDITION.
