Banff, Alta. (January 10, 2014) – Team Canada’s Ryan Fry was drafted first overall by Kevin Martin – the only skip in the All-Star field that Fry has never competed with at a Brier – as revealed earlier tonight on TSN2 during the TRAVELERS ALL-STAR CURLING SKINS DRAFT SHOW Presented by Pinty’s (see below for complete draft results).
Set against the backdrop of Mount Norquay in Banff, Alta., the 30-minute outdoor broadcast featured Martin, Jeff Stoughton (second pick), Brad Jacobs (third pick), and Brad Gushue (fourth pick) drafting new teammates for this weekend’s TRAVELERS ALL-STAR CURLING SKINS GAME Presented by Pinty’s from The Fenlands Banff Recreation Centre.

The TRAVELERS ALL-STAR CURLING SKINS GAME Presented by Pinty’s
After having last pick in the draft, Turin 2006 Olympic gold medallist Brad Gushue was given the choice of picking his opponent and selected three-time Brier champion and two-time World champion Jeff Stoughton for tomorrow’s (Saturday, Jan. 11) first semifinal at 1 p.m. ET live on TSN.
Saturday’s primetime draw features Vancouver 2010 gold medallist Kevin Martin going head-to-head against Team Canada’s Sochi 2014 skip Brad Jacobs in semifinal #2 at 9:30 p.m. ET live on TSN. The semifinal winners will face off in the final, airing this Sunday (Jan. 12) at 1 p.m. ET on TSN.
TSN’s esteemed curling broadcast team will call all the action from Banff, with Vic Rauter handling play-by-play duties alongside analysts Russ Howard and Linda Moore.
The TRAVELERS ALL-STAR CURLING SKINS GAME uses a single-elimination format whereby anything can happen, as the winner is decided by total prize money and not total points. A total cash purse of $100,000 is available to be won over the two-day event.
Martin is the leading money earner in TSN skins game history with $425,350 in winnings.
