TORONTO (June 25, 2014) – The dust from one of Canada’s most exciting street parties may have settled, and the stage packed away for another year, but the excitement from the 2014 MUCH MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS still reverberates. The 2014 MUCH MUSIC VIDEO AWARDS drew a combined audience of more than 1 million viewers to Much and CTV, final audience data from Numeris confirms, making the awards the second-most-watched MMVAs ever. Reaching close to 4.4 million unique viewers overall and peaking with 1.4 million viewers during Ariana Grande’s electrifying finale performance, the iconic awards show saw 26% growth in the key A18-34 demo compared to last year.

Among these topics, 13 trended worldwide, including #SingItEd which held the #1 spot internationally. Fans have been talking MMVAs on social media since May, when voting opened for the three Your Fave award categories. By June 15 more than 50 million votes had been cast via Twitter, Instagram, and on Much.ca.
Thousands of fans took to the streets outside Much HQ in Toronto on Sunday, June 15 to catch a glimpse of their favourite celebs including hosts Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and show-stopping performances by Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Hedley, Imagine Dragons, Kiesza, Lorde, MAGIC!, Sam Roberts Band, and Virginia to Vegas featuring Alyssa Reid.
