Crave continues to deliver weekly alerts highlighting new and noteworthy programming and scheduling changes for the week ahead. Highlights This Week

• The international television event ONE WORLD: TOGETHER AT HOME is available on Crave from Sunday, April 19–Tuesday, April 21 at 8 p.m. ET, following its live TV, radio, and digital broadcast. As previously announced, Bell Media is a foundational Canadian partner for the historic broadcast, which is hosted by Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert. The benefit event includes appearances and performances by Canadians Céline Dion, Shawn Mendes, Jessie Reyez, Lilly Singh, Michael Bublé, and P.K. • The Crave and TIFF Stay-at-Home Cinema initiative continues this week. Tomorrow, April 16, Emilio Estevez joins TIFF Artistic Director and Co-Head Cameron Bailey for a virtual Q&A on Instagram Live (@tiff_net), before screening the cross-generational teen-angst film THE BREAKFAST CLUB on Crave. Then, on Saturday, April 18, viewers can tune-in for a virtual screening of YESTERDAY, the film that asks what the world would be like without The Beatles. Cameron’s Q&A guest will be announced in the coming days. Both Stay-at-Home Cinema experiences begin on Instagram Live with the virtual Q&As at 7 p.m. ET, and at 7:30 p.m. ET, audiences can view the films through Crave and continue the conversation on Twitter during their home screening.

 

• The Crave-supported Canadian film Code 8, which began streaming on Crave in March, is picking up steam following its release internationally. The crowd-funded science-fiction flick, directed by Jeff Chan and starring Canadian actors and cousins Stephen and Robbie Amell, has caught the eye of Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman, who have greenlit development on a spinoff version for Quibi.

  Crave Audience Metrics Crave continues to have Canadians covered, delivering the best movies, TV series, and original hits all in one place. Last week (April 6-12), Crave streaming platforms once again had their most-viewed week in Crave history in terms of streams and hours viewed, topping the record set last week*. What to Watch for the Week of April 16-22 *All Programming Subject to Change

• The buddy-cop action-comedy STUBER begins streaming Friday, April 17. A quick-tempered cop (Dave Bautista) who’s recovering from eye surgery recruits a mild-mannered Uber driver (Kumail Nanjiani) to help him catch the heroin dealer who murdered his partner. The mismatched pair soon find themselves in for a wild day of stakeouts and shootouts as they pursue violent criminals through the seedy streets of Los Angeles.

 

• The latest Crave Original stand-up comedy special, GRAHAM KAY: STUPID JOKES begins streaming Friday, April 17. In this hilarious one-hour special, Graham Kay brings his observational humour and sarcastic charm to Just For Laughs, where he takes on everyday topics from surviving a breakup in NYC to tracing-paper pornography.

 

• Season 6 of the police procedural BOSCH drops Saturday, April 18. Detective Harry Bosh Starring Titus Welliver as Detective Harry Bosch, a former Army Special Forces operative and a veteran of the first Gulf War and Afghanistan who works as a homicide detective in the Hollywood Division. This season, after a medical physicist is executed and the deadly radioactive material he had with him goes missing, Bosch finds himself at the center of a complex murder case, a messy federal investigation, and a catastrophic threat to Los Angeles, the city he’s pledged to serve and protect.

 

• HBO’s romantic comedy thriller RUN continues with episode two this week, Sunday, April 19 at 10:30 p.m. ET. Created and written by Vicky Jones and Executive Produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the series has already received critical acclaim, with Vulture saying the series is “a beam of glorious light and a jolt of electricity” and Time calling it “an energetic hybrid of rom-com and action thriller.”

 

• Just in time for 4/20, Seasons 1-8 of the hit dark comedy-drama WEEDS begin streaming Monday, April 20 on STARZ, joining Crave’s 420 Collection. Created by Jenji Kohan the series stars Mary-Louise Parker as Nancy Botwin, a widowed mother of two boys Silas (Hunter Parrish) and Shane (Alexander Gould) who begins selling marijuana to support her family.

 

• HBO’s six-part limited series THE PLOT AGAINST AMERICA wraps up Monday, April 20 at 9 p.m. ET. Created by David Simon and based on the Philip Roth novel of the same name, the series imagines an alternate American history, told through the eyes of a working-class Jewish family in New Jersey as they watch the political rise of aviator-hero and xenophobic populist Charles Lindbergh, who becomes president and turns the nation toward fascism. The finale episode has received critical acclaim, with Entertainment Weekly calling it “one of the most breathtakingly tense episodes of television.”
