Crave continues to deliver weekly alerts highlighting new and noteworthy programming and scheduling changes for the week ahead. Viewership on Crave streaming platforms has seen a notable jump recently, with total streaming hours up 46% during the March 12-March 29 period. Meanwhile, March 29 marks the most-watched day on Crave since the GAME OF THRONES series finale last year.*
Continuing the Crave and TIFF Stay-at-Home cinema initiative announced last week, tonight TIFF Artistic Director and Co-Head Cameron Bailey hosts a virtual Q&A via Instagram Live @TIFF_NET with Award-winning actor and director Sarah Polley, before screening her award-winning 2007 film AWAY FROM HER on Crave. Then, on Friday, April 3, Catherine O’Hara and Bo Welch join Cameron for a conversation and virtual screening of the award-winning classic BEETLEJUICE.
The Crave Bracket Challenge announced last week continues, with the top Crave series and movies going head to head in a heated matchup. Voting on the Sweet 16 titles was close, with mere votes separating the ultimate victors. The titles moving onto the Elite Eight round are GAME OF THRONES, DEXTER, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, THE SOPORANOS, THE MATRIX, THE SHINING, SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, and INCEPTION. “Elite Eight” voting opens today, and the final winner is set to be announced Monday, April 6 along with the lucky winner of a prize package worth more than $500. - HBO’s REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER is back with a new episode this Friday, April 3, live at 10 p.m. ET and available on-demand the following morning, featuring host Bill Maher broadcasting from home.
- Hosted by Elton John and featuring performances by Alicia Keys,Backstreet Boys, Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mariah Carey, and Tim McGraw, THE IHEART LIVING ROOM CONCERT, which took place on Sunday, March 29, is now streaming on Crave. Known as the worst idea in the history of professional wrestling, a legitimate boxing tournament leads to career-ending injuries and has audiences begging for the final bell.
- HBO’s ATLANTA’S MISSING AND MURDERED: THE LOST CHILDREN premieres April 5 at 8 p.m. ET. The five-part docu-series offers an unprecedented look at the abduction and murder of at least 30 African-American children and young adults in Atlanta between 1979 and 1981. Forty years later, with the official re-opening of the case, the series sheds new light on the horrific killings through exclusive archival material as well as interviews with those closest to the children and investigation.
- Two documentaries are coming to Crave this week: UNABOMBER: IN HIS OWN WORDS (April 3) focuses on Ted Kaczynski and his campaign of terror from 1978 to 1985; and PAVAROTTI (April 6) directed by Ron Howard tells the life story of opera singer Luciano Pavarotti.
