MUST-WATCH TITLES FOR APRIL April 11 – HBO’s THE NEVERS *Series Premiere*

• The new HBO science-fiction drama THE NEVERS premieres Sunday, April 11 at 9 p.m. ET. In the last years of Victoria’s reign, London is beset by the “Touched” people, mostly women, who suddenly manifest abnormal abilities. Some charming, some very disturbing. Among them are Amalia True (Laura Donnelly), a mysterious, quick-fisted widow, and Penance Adair (Ann Skelly), a brilliant young inventor. They are the champions of this new underclass, making a home for the Touched, while fighting the forces of… well, pretty much all the forces – to make room for those whom history as we know it, has no place. THE NEVERS follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Crave.

April 18 – STARZ’s CONFRONTING A SERIAL KILLER *Series Premiere*

• The STARZ Original docuseries CONFRONTING A SERIAL KILLER begins streaming on Sunday, April 18. The five-episode series covers the unprecedented relationship between acclaimed author and journalist Jillian Lauren and the most prolific serial killer in American history, Sam Little, and her race against time to identify his victims before it’s too late (Little recently died in prison at the age of 80, after avoiding justice for his crimes for decades). Through the perspectives of Lauren and several female investigators, survivors, and victims’ family members, CONFRONTING A SERIAL KILLER shines a light on systemic issues in the criminal justice system including bias against marginalized communities, particularly women of color, and those struggling with addiction, mental illness, and trauma. The series is executive produced and directed by Oscar^®-nominated and Emmy^®-winning filmmaker Joe Berlinger (the Paradise Lost Trilogy) with Po Kutchins (THE CIRCUS, THE MURDER OF LACI PETERSON) serving as showrunner and executive producer. CONFRONTING A SERIAL KILLER follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Sundays on STARZ.

April 18 – HBO’s MARE OF EASTTOWN *Limited Series Premiere*

• The HBO limited-series MARE OF EASTTOWN, starring Kate Winslet, premieres Sunday, April 18 at 10 p.m. ET. As her life crumbles around her, a small-town Pennsylvania detective Mare Sheehan (Winslet) investigates a local murder. The series explores the dark side of a close community and provides an authentic examination of how family and past tragedies can define our present. The seven-part series is from creator and writer Brad Ingelsby (THE WAY BACK), with all episodes directed by Craig Zobel (THE LEFTOVERS). MARE OF EASTTOWN follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on Crave.

April 22 – Crave’s Hot Docs Collection

• As the Canadian filmmaking community gathers virtually to celebrate the best in documentary film at the annual Hot Docs Festival (happening April 29-May 9), Crave highlights past festival selections with the Hot Docs Collection. Launching on Thursday, April 22, the collection features notable documentary titles such as: Canadian documentary KILLING PATIENT ZERO, HBO’s I LOVE YOU NOW DIE and MOONLIGHT SONATA: DEAFNESS IN THREE MOVEMENTS, SHOWTIME’s THE FOURTH ESTATE, O.J.: MADE IN AMERICA, and more. As was recently announced, documentaries IN THE SAME BREATH and STREET GANG: HOW WE GOT TO SESAME STREET will screen at Hot Docs prior to their debut on Crave later this year.

April 30 – BARB AND STAR GO TO VISTA DEL MAR *Movie Premiere*

• From co-stars and co-writers Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo, BARB AND STAR GO TO VISTA DEL MAR, drops on Crave Friday, April 30. Lifelong friends Barb and Star embark on the adventure of a lifetime when they decide to leave their small Midwestern town for the first time ever. Also dropping on Crave the same day, subscribers can catch Wiig and Mumolo’s hit collaboration, BRIDESMAIDS.

Now Streaming – Crave Celebrates Oscar Winning Films

• With the nominations for the 2021 Academy Awards® announced on Monday, Crave celebrates film’s biggest award ceremony with the Oscar Winners Collection, now streaming on Crave. Covering past Oscar-winning films, the collection includes titles like: The Life of Pi (2013), No Country for Old Men (2008), Parasite (2020), OJ: Made in America (2017), Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (2001), and more. Subscribes can also catch 2021 Oscar nominee EMMA now streaming on Crave, with best picture nominee SOUND OF METAL set to drop in May.

April 11 – SHAMELESSS *Series Finale*

• The acclaimed comedy series SHAMELESS* says a final goodbye after 11 seasons. The final season of the long-running comedy, starring Oscar-nominated William H. Macy, has seen the Gallagher family and the South Side at a crossroads, with changes caused by the COVID pandemic, gentrification, and aging to contend with. The series finale, titled “Father Frank, Full of Grace” drops Sunday, April 11 at 9 p.m. ET.

April 17 – GAME OF THRONES 10^th Anniversary

• On April 17, HBO’s GAME OF THRONES celebrates its Iron Anniversary after going down in history as one of the most popular – and most debated – series in television history. Crave commemorates 10 years of the global phenomenon with a number of special collections launching April 17: The Essential Episodes, Best of Jon Snow, Best of Arya Stark, Best of Daenerys Targaryen, Best of Tyrion Lannister, and Best of Cersei Lannister.

• All nine, 30-minute episodes of Season 2 SHOWTIME’S COUPLES THERAPY drop Sunday, April 18. The critically acclaimed docuseries provides viewers an authentic and visceral look at weekly therapy sessions with world-class therapist Dr. Orna Guralnik. Following eight months of therapy sessions, Dr. Guralnik guides three new couples working through intense conflicts: a single mother’s unplanned pregnancy forces her to examine if the father is actually the man she wants to be with; a woman confronts her husband for failing to deliver the life she wants, and the raw trauma of near-fatal alcoholism reveals unexpected consequences for a young gay couple. The season also sheds an intimate light on at-home confinement during COVID-19 shutdowns, forcing every couple – and Dr. Guralnik herself – to examine profound changes within their daily lives.

April 20 – SASQUATCH *Docuseries Premiere*

• From executive producers Mark and Jay Duplass (ROOM 104, THE LADY AND THE DALE), the three-part Hulu docuseries SASQUATCH drops on Crave Tuesday, April 20, in line with its rollout in the U.S. While visiting a pot farm in Northern California in 1993, investigative journalist David Holthouse heard a story that still haunts him: on a nearby farm, three men were torn limb from limb in a savage Bigfoot attack. Now, the three-episode, one-hour series follows David as he revisits the redwoods 25 years later, in search of any evidence that might lead to the truth of what happened that night. As he pulls at the threads of this story, he’s taken down a path that’s far more terrifying than anyone would have imagined.

April 21 – Crave Celebrates National Canadian Film Day

• Crave celebrates the best and brightest of Hollywood North with the National Canadian Film Day Collection, launching Wednesday, April 21. Dropping in conjunction with National Canadian Film Day, the collection highlights a number of acclaimed Canadian films including: Eastern Promises, Blood Quantum, The Broken Hearts Gallery, Crave Original The Song of Names, Stardust, Posessor, Rabid, and more.

April 22 – Crave Celebrates Earth Day

• Crave’s Earth Day Collection launches Thursday, April 22. Launching in conjunction with the worldwide Earth Day climate action, the collection highlights thought provoking environmental documentaries and films including: I Am Greta, Crave Originals Sharkwater Extinction and Anthropocene: The Human Epoch, Ice on Fire, Sea of Life, and more.

April 28 – THE HANDMAID’S TALE *Season 4 Premiere*

• The fourth season of THE HANDMAID’S TALE premieres with two episodes on Wednesday, April 28 at 9 p.m. ET. The series also premieres concurrently on linear on CTV Drama Channel and rolls out in Canada the same day it launches in the U.S. In the 10-episode upcoming season, June (Elisabeth Moss) strikes back against Gilead as a fierce rebel leader, but the risks she takes bring unexpected and dangerous new challenges. Her quest for justice and revenge threatens to consume her and destroy her most cherished relationships.
