Montréal, 17 octobre 2014 – Yesterday evening, exactly 25 years to the day since the first-ever broadcast of a Montreal Canadiens game on RDS, an average of 1,059,000* viewers tuned in to the network for the Habs’ 2014-2015 season home opener.
A peak of 1,500,000* viewers was recorded at the end of the game’s third period, which the Canadiens won 6-4 against their perennial rivals, the Boston Bruins.
RDS had a 32.2% share of the market in Quebec while the game was on air, making it the evening’s number-one TV show across all networks.
In the games aired so far this season, Canadiens hockey on RDS has reached an average audience of 860,000* viewers per game.
