AUGUST 16 – RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE GLOBAL ALL STARS *Premiere*
- Hosted by RuPaul, alongside mainstay judge Michelle Visage and choreographer Jamal Sims, the first-ever RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE GLOBAL ALL STARS premieres with two episodes on Friday, August 16. In this inaugural season, 12 fan-favourite queens from around the world, including CANADA’S DRAG RACE Season 2 alum Pythia, will represent their countries as they compete for the title of “Queen of the Mothertucking World,” a grand prize of $200,000, and a spot in the international pavilion at the Drag Race Hall of Fame. RUPAUL’S DRAG RACE GLOBAL ALL STARS follows a weekly release schedule with new episodes dropping on Fridays.
- Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth star in Academy Award®-winning mastermind George Miller’s iconic dystopian world he created more than 40 years ago with the seminal Mad Max Miller turns the page with this all-new original and standalone action-adventure film that reveals the origins of the powerhouse character from the multiple Academy Award-winning global smash Mad Max: Fury Road (also available for streaming on Crave). As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.
- Rory Scovel takes the stage at Minneapolis’ Goodale Theatre to offer his observations on such disparate subjects as religion, sex, mushrooms, vaccines, parenting an eight-year-old, and much more, in this standup special. Over the course of his 70-minute set, the South Carolina native interweaves improvised moments with meta-commentary on the subtle art of stand-up as he riffs on some of the most awkward aspects of seemingly taboo yet universal topics – all with a dose of his amiable southern charm. From executive producers Conan O’Brien and Conaco.
- Former nurse-turned-exotic animal broker Tonia Haddix, who refers to herself as the “Dolly Parton of chimps,” spends her days caring for animals in captivity. However, her limitless love for one chimpanzee in particular spins into a wild cat-and-mouse game with authorities and an animal rights group. Through Tonia’s and other “chimp mom” experiences, HBO’s CHIMP CRAZY reveals the singular bonds that form between owners and their highly intelligent great ape pets. The four-part docuseries debuts Sunday, August 18 at 10 p.m. ET, with subsequent episodes streaming Sundays at 10 p.m. ET.
