Bell Media Celebrates National Canadian Film Day, April 17

– Crave, STARZ, Super Écran, and Cinépop highlight homegrown feature films during Reel Canada’s annual celebration of Canadian cinema –

TORONTO (April 2, 2019) – Bell Media’s premium English and French-language Pay TV networks – Crave, STARZ, Super Écran, and Cinépop – are pleased to support National Canadian Film Day on Wednesday, April 17 with a specially curated lineup of titles that celebrate the best in homegrown cinema. Bell Media is a proud sponsor of National Canadian Film Day, now in its sixth year.

Crave’s lineup includes feature-length documentaries YOU ARE HERE: A COME FROM AWAY STORY, a Bell Media original which just took home two Canadian Screen Awards (CSAs) including Best Documentary Program, the CSA-winning RUMBLE: THE INDIANS WHO ROCKED THE WORLD, and acclaimed music documentaries RUSH: TIME STAND STILL and LONG TIME RUNNING.

Also on Crave are celebrated films like THE BREADWINNER, an Oscar®-nominee for Best Animated Feature, DON’T TALK TO IRENE, NEVER STEADY, NEVER STILL, and MAUDIE which took home seven Canadian Screen Awards in 2018, including Best Picture.

These titles are also available for streaming in the National Canadian Film Day Collection on Crave.ca which launches on April 17.

On STARZ, subscribers can enjoy classic Canadian films including Xavier Dolan’s MOMMY; Denis Villeneuve’s INCENDIES; Atom Egoyan’s ADORATION, and CAS & DYLAN, co-starring ORPHAN BLACK’s Tatiana Maslany.

French-language Pay TV networks Super Écran and Cinépop have compiled two, all-Canadian collections that are now available on demand and on Super Écran GO and Cinépop GO. Highlighted films include Jean-Marc Vallée’s CAFÉ DE FLORE; Denys Arcand’s LES INVASIONS BARBARES; Luc Picard’s L’AUDITION; Sophie Dupuis’ CHIEN DE GARDE, and many more.

Presented by Reel Canada, National Canadian Film Day is an annual day-long celebration of Canadian film that comes to life across the country through screenings, events, panel discussions, and conversations.
