TORONTO (November 3, 2025) – Honouring exceptional contributions to journalism by Canada’s radio, television, and digital news operations, Bell Media congratulates its team members on a total of 38 wins at the
2025 RTDNA Canada Awards. Announced Saturday evening by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA), Bell Media won 11 National and Local News awards, in addition to 21 previously announced Regional Award wins, and numerous lifetime achievement and special award honours.
CTV News Director and Senior Managing Editor David Hughes was named a recipient of RTDNA Canada’s National Lifetime Achievement Award, presented to individuals who have distinguished themselves through outstanding service and continued excellence during the course of their career in broadcast and digital journalism.
CTV News camera operator Jerry Vienneau was inducted into the RTDNA Canada Hall of Fame, honouring those who have made outstanding contributions to the fields of video, digital, and audio journalism.
Several current and former longtime Bell Media employees received Regional Lifetime Achievement Awards, including: Gareth Dillistone for the Prairies region; David Burnet and Peter Camp for the Central region; and Bruce Frisko for the Atlantic region.
Additionally,
CTV NATIONAL NEWS journalist Maria Sarrouh was recognized with an Honourable Mention for Best Emerging Journalist.

CTV News was recognized with a multitude of national honours, including Best Live Special Event for the network’s coverage of the state funeral of the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney, as well as Best Digital Breaking News for CTVNews.ca’s coverage of the assassination attempt on US President Donald Trump.
CTV News’ Investigative Unit
W5 was honoured for Excellence in Video and Best News Information Program for its investigation into one of the world’s most dangerous migrant routes in “Narco Jungle: The Darien Gap”, as well as Best Enterprise Journalism for its investigation regarding Jack Letts, a Canadian accused of being a member of ISIS, and his family’s fight to free him from jail.
In the local news categories, CTV News Vancouver and CTV News Atlantic each received two award wins, including Best TV Newscast (Large Market) and Best Breaking News (Small/Medium Market) for exceptional local news coverage of severe weather impacting their respective regions.
