TORONTO (September 22, 2020) – BNN Bloomberg, Canada’s definitive source for business news, recorded its highest average television audiences in five years during the 2019-20 broadcast year, according to recent final data from Numeris. Audiences grew 88% among adult viewers aged 25-54, and +49% overall, compared to the previous broadcast year.
Meanwhile, BNN Bloomberg digital platforms are posting record numbers so far in 2020, reaching 83% more Canadians than a year earlier. Total visits to
BNNBloomberg.ca are up 37% over 2019, and social media referrals to the site are up 70%.

“BNN Bloomberg is stronger than ever, and our audience increases are a testament to our insightful coverage and unwavering commitment to inform viewers about their financial security,” said Grant Ellis, General Manager, BNN Bloomberg. “We are honoured that hundreds of thousands of Canadians turn to BNN Bloomberg daily. As we navigate these challenging times together, our viewers know they can count on us to provide the country’s most comprehensive business news coverage.”
The audience increase is particularly notable in the second half of the broadcast year, given the significant production challenges for broadcasters due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. BNN Bloomberg quickly pivoted resources last spring to broadcast 100% remotely while keeping Canadian investors informed as markets were whipsawed by the crisis. Powered by the strength of its dozens of journalists, and partnerships with Canadian news leader CTV News and international business news giant Bloomberg LP, BNN Bloomberg has unmatched newsgathering tools and expertise to adjust to unprecedented times.
