This Thursday, starting at 9 a.m. ET, RDS will broadcast the women’s semifinals live from the French Open. For the occasion, Eugenie Bouchard (18), player of the hour on the WTA circuit, will face off against her childhood idol and former #1 in the world, the russian Maria Sharapova (7).
First Canadian woman to reach the semifinals at Roland-Garros, Eugenie Bouchard, only 20 years old, will attempt to land a spot in the final of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in her young career. The Quebecer is the only player on the circuit to have qualified for the semifinals at the two first tournaments of the Grand Slam this season.
In the other semifinal, Andrea Petkovic (28) will challenge Simona Halep (4).
Yvan Ponton and Hélène Pelletier will provide the play-by-play and analysis for both matches.
