BravoFACT Partners with Hot Docs for New Short Film Pitch Competition During 2015 Festival

TORONTO (March 11, 2015) – Bell Media’s BravoFACT (Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent) announced today it has partnered with Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival to offer an all-new short film competition, the Hot Docs Short Film Pitch. Taking place on Wednesday, April 29 at 7 p.m. during the 2015 Hot Docs Festival, which runs April 23 to May 3, six Canadian filmmaking teams are given the opportunity to pitch their documentary short to a live audience and a panel of judges, for a chance to receive funding for their film. BravoFACTUAL will award a total of $75,000 at the event for first, second, and third-place prizes of $30,000, $25,000, and $20,000 respectively. Bell Media is a proud principal partner of Hot Docs. Beginning now, registered Hot Docs delegates with Conference, Conference & Networking, or All-Access passes are encouraged to visit www.hotdocs.ca to submit their application. The six teams selected to pitch their short at the Hot Docs Short Film Pitch competition will be notified on Friday, April 13. Most recently, it was announced that BravoFACTUAL funded documentary I Thought I Told You To Shut Up! by Director Charlie Tyrell is set to make its world premiere at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas. The next submission deadline for BravoFACTUAL is April 1, 2015. The next submission deadline for BravoFACT is June 12, 2015.
