TORONTO (May 19, 2015) – HBO Canada confirmed today that the hotly anticipated weekly talk show ANY GIVEN WEDNESDAY WITH BILL SIMMONS, hosted by one of the most influential figures in contemporary sports media, debuts Wednesday, June 22 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, day and date with HBO. One of the most provocative and unfiltered hosts in contemporary sports media, Bill Simmons brings his insights to the new weekly series, which spans pop culture and touches on everything from sports and entertainment to arts and technology. Each 30-minute episode features Simmons’ signature commentary on the world of sports through the lens of the die-hard fan, contributions from regular correspondents, and an extended one-on-one interview with a special guest on original topics. “I’m excited about the show, I’m excited about the title, and I’m really, really excited to drop my first F-bomb on TV,” said Simmons. “We are going to figure out nudity down the road, as long as it’s tasteful.” The founding editor of Grantland.com and the creator of the new content site The Ringer, Bill Simmons is also the executive producer of AFTER THE THRONES, the weekly recap series which explores the complicated politics and history of the hit HBO series GAME OF THRONES, as well as offering theories about future episodes.
