HALIFAX (February 24, 2020) – iHeartRadio Canada’s C100 and 101.3 Virgin Radio announced today its evolving partnership with the IWK Foundation, rebranding its annual radiothon as 100 Hours for the Kids at the IWK in support of specialized health care for children in the Maritimes. Now in its 19th year, the new format transitions from a one-day broadcast to a four-day event that spans 100 hours from Bell Media Radio stations across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Starting Tuesday, March 24 at 9 a.m. AT, C100, 101.3 Virgin Radio, and partnering Bell Media radio stations begin sharing stories of children at the IWK and encouraging listeners to support the urgent care needs of the hospital by calling 1.800.595.2266 to make a donation. The event concludes with a grand finale live broadcast on Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. AT at Mic Mac Mall to thank participants and listeners for their support. “We are thrilled to partner again with the IWK for what is now the 100 Hours for the Kids at the IWK,” said Brad Muir, Director of Programming, C100 and Virgin Radio. “It’s truly an honour to be part of an initiative that continues to help so many kids in our community and surrounding areas.” C100 and 101.3 Virgin Radio’s fundraising efforts have generated more than $6 million to date in support Atlantic Canada’s Children’s Hospital, and continue to build on this initiative in partnership with local markets and listeners.
