Canada’s Top Figure Skaters Take to the Ice at the 2013 CANADIAN TIRE NATIONAL FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS on CTV and TSN

Toronto (January 15, 2013) – From reigning World Champion Patrick Chan and the darling duo of Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir to up-and-comer Kaetlyn Osmond, the country’s top figure skaters are in the spotlight at the 2013 CANADIAN TIRE NATIONAL FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS live on CTV and TSN from January 18-20 at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, ON.

Coverage begins with the Women’s and Pair Short Programs on Friday, Jan. 18 at 3 p.m. ET on TSN, followed by the Men’s Short Program at 8 p.m. ET (see complete broadcast schedule below).

CTV’s coverage of the 2013 CANADIAN TIRE NATIONAL FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS is available on CTV.ca, the CTV social app, and on the CTV mobile channel, while TSN’s coverage of the event can be seen live on TSN Mobile TV.

Brian Williams hosts the 2013 CANADIAN TIRE NATIONAL FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS, bringing his extensive experience covering the Olympic Winter Games and Canadian and World Figure Skating Championships. Rod Black, the voice of figure skating in Canada, is in the broadcast booth with analyst Tracy Wilson, a decorated Canadian figure skating champion. Reporting rinkside and backstage is Sara Orlesky, who covered figure skating events at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

The athletes showcased at the 2013 CANADIAN TIRE NATIONAL FIGURE SKATING CHAMPIONSHIPS will look to secure a spot on the Skate Canada National Team and the Canadian teams competing at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships® 2013 in London, ON, the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships 2013, and the ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships® 2013.

Patrick Chan (Toronto) – current World and Canadian Champion seeks to secure the Canadian title for the sixth year in a row
Tessa Virtue (London, ON) and Scott Moir (Ilderton, ON) – reigning World Champions in Ice Dance look to defend their Canadian Senior Dance title
Meagan Duhamel (Lively, ON) and Eric Radford (Balmertown, ON) – pair team competes for a back-to-back title
Kaetlyn Osmond (Marystown, NL) – rising star hits the ice after surprising the skating world with gold at the 2012 Nebelhorn Trophy and the 2012 SKATE CANADA INTERNATIONAL
Amélie Lacoste (Delson, QC) – reigning women’s champion returns to defend her title
