TORONTO (July 18, 2013) – John Herdman, the popular head coach of the Canadian women’s national soccer team, is bringing his insight and analysis to TSN’s coverage of the 2013 UEFA EURO WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP. Herdman will be in the TSN Studio alongside host Luke Wileman and analyst Jason deVos, as they break down all the action during pre-game, halftime, and post-game shows. Coverage begins this Sunday (July 21) at 8:45 a.m. ET on TSN2 with the first quarter-final game and includes the quarter-finals, semifinals, and Final (see complete broadcast schedule below).

 Herdman is credited with turning around the Canadian women’s national soccer team since signing on as head coach in 2011. During the LONDON 2012 OLYMPIC GAMES, he helped lead Canada to a bronze medal after a dramatic semifinal game against the United States. The game attracted an average of 3.84 million Canadians on TSN, CTV, and V, and ranked as the second most-watched 2012 Summer Games event. Herdman is guiding Team Canada towards the highly-anticipated FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 in Canada.

Host Sweden is joined by France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, and Norway in the 2013 UEFA EURO WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP quarter-finals, with Denmark, England, Russia, and Spain also looking to advance to the quarter-finals. Defending champion Germany, a long-standing powerhouse in the women’s game, is looking for its sixth consecutive title. Held every four years, the UEFA EURO WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP features the Top 12 women’s teams in Europe.
