Canadians are on the Case as THE INDIAN DETECTIVE Debuts to Huge Audiences

CTVThe Indian Detective

CTV’s newest original series THE INDIAN DETECTIVE is the biggest Canadian series debut in two years, after premiering to 1.6 million total viewers last night, and with a full week of playback data still to come. It’s the third-highest debut of a series this broadcast year behind YOUNG SHELDON and THE GOOD DOCTOR, also on CTV. In fact, THE INDIAN DETECTIVE ranked as the second most-watched program in Canada Thursday (Nov. 23) among A18-49, behind YOUNG SHELDON. When we told series star Russell Peters about the series’ premiere ratings, the comedian said “All I can say is wow! In this day and age, to have that many people tune into anything is amazing! Thank you Canada! You really know how to make a guy feel special!” And Canadian viewers are not the only ones loving the series. Last night, DESIGNATED SURVIVOR’s Kal Penn tweeted Russell and said… “dude, The Indian Detective is so funny! Congrats. @AnupamPkher’s Fart Attack had me rolling.” Final audience data for the series premiere of THE INDIAN DETECTIVE will be available Dec. 5. THE INDIAN DETECTIVE airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO. Source: Numeris, Fall 2017 to-date (Sept. 25 – Nov. 23, 2017), based on overnight data
