TORONTO (November 16, 2022) –
CP24 and
CHUM 104.5 return to partner on the annual
CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH (The Wish) toy drive campaign, launching tomorrow,
Nov. 17. Now in its 56
th year, the city-wide charitable initiative helps to spread holiday cheer and support families in need across the GTA, with the campaign running through
Friday, Dec. 23 at noon.
CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH invites the city to join the spirit of the holidays by offering a financial donation or dropping off a new, unwrapped toy to one of the following designated drop off locations located across the city:
- The CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH Warehouse (1366 Blundell Road, Mississauga)
- Main Lobby of Bell Media Studios (299 Queen Street West, Toronto)
- Dymon Storage: Accepting toy donations beginning Monday, November 21
– 285 Taunton Road E, Oshawa
– 1460 The Queensway, Etobicoke
– 8901 Airport Road, Brampton
- Online at TheWish.ca

- Beginning December 1st, 2022, a drop off location is available at Casa Loma in Toronto
The annual campaign kicks off tomorrow with an all-day telethon-style fundraising event from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on CP24. The live on-air event features appearances from notable Canadians and surprise guests sharing support for this year’s campaign. Also appearing during the event are The Wish’s longtime returning corporate partners RBC Royal Bank, Giant Tiger Stores LTD., and many more.
Financial donations of $10, $20 or $25 can be made by texting WISH to 30333, with larger donations accepted online at
TheWish.ca. All funds are distributed to participating registered agencies, with donations channeled toward funding safe holiday experiences, such as small celebrations for children and families in need. All monetary donations of $20 or more are eligible for an income tax receipt. Toys that have an outer package or cover are preferred, with donations accepted for newborns and children up to 18 years of age.

THE ORIGINAL SANTA CLAUS PARADE and is hosting a toy drive in support of the
CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH. On Nov. 20, parade goers are welcomed to bring new, unwrapped toys to Desjardins’ two toy drop-off zones, located at Berczy Park and Emmanuelle College. Those looking for other ways to give can participate in the 2022 Santa Claus Parade 50/50 Raffle. The initiative supports multiple Canadian charities, including The Wish. From now through Dec. 18,
tickets can be purchased online.
As one of the largest distributors of toys to children in need in the Greater Toronto Area,
CP24 CHUM CHRISTMAS WISH also provides financial assistance to hundreds of charitable organizations, social services agencies, churches, and community centres. Supporters can follow the campaign’s news, progress, and updates on The Wish
