TORONTO (October 10, 2013) – This month, Chris Hardwick (THE NERDIST, JUST FOR LAUGHS: ALL ACCESS) joins the ranks of The Comedy Network’s kings of late-night with the premiere of @MIDNIGHT. Beginning Monday, Oct. 21, the popular stand-up comic, nerd, and veritable media mogul hosts the brand new comedy competition series, sending viewers down the ultimate internet wormhole. Each night, a rotating lineup of comedians battle to determine who has the best take on the day’s pop culture happenings, as played out on social media, in hopes of being crowned the funniest person on Earth…until tomorrow. Produced by Funny Or Die, @midnight airs Monday-Thursday at 12 midnight ET/PT following late-night mainstays The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (11 p.m. ET/PT) and The Colbert Report (11:30 p.m. ET/PT).

Using social media as the catalyst and a fake game show as the setting, @MIDNIGHT challenges comedians to prove who’s the funniest by slashing the craziest, most absurd news and posts that social media has to offer: from celebrity Twitter tantrums to the most bizarre Yahoo Answers; to rich kids on Instagram. The series features appearances by comedians such as Kumail Nanjiani (FRANKLIN & BASH), Kurt Braunohler (BUNK), and Natasha Leggero (BRICKLEBERRY) who fight and joke to the death as they vie to be crowned the funniest of the night.
About Chris Hardwick
Chris Hardwick is a well-known stand-up comedian, chart-topping podcaster, television personality, contributor for Wired magazine, and CEO of Nerdist Industries which includes a premium YouTube channel with several hundred thousand subscribers, as well as the Nerdist Podcast that averages 4.8 million monthly downloads. In addition to his Nerdist responsibilities, Hardwick is the face of AMC’s live after-shows, Talking Dead and Talking Bad. This past summer, Hardwick hosted a gala during Montreal’s Just For Laughs, to be featured during Season 2 of Comedy’s original JUST FOR LAUGHS: ALL ACCESS series, premiering Winter 2014.
@MIDNIGHT is executive produced by Thomas Lennon (COMEDY BANG! BANG!), Robert Ben Garant (RENO 911!), and Chris Hardwick. Mike Farah for Funny Or Die, Alex Blagg, Jason Nadler, and Jon Zimelis of Serious Business are also on board to executive produce the series. Showrunners are Jack Martin and Alex Murray of Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Jim Sharp and Gary Mann are the Executives in Charge of Production for Comedy Central.
