THE UNDOING, LOVECRAFT COUNTRY, THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT, YOUR HONOR, and more – it’s a golden day for Crave programming, which racked up an impressive 15 nominations for the
78TH ANNUAL GOLDEN GLOBE® AWARDS (airing live on
Feb. 28 on CTV).
KILLING EVE, which airs on CTV Drama Channel, also garnered a nod for Jodie Comer in the Best Actress, TV Drama category.
HBO’s buzzworthy drama
THE UNDOING is tops among all limited series with four nominations: Best Limited Series or TV Movie, and acting nods for Nicole Kidman (Best Actress, Limited Series or TV Movie), Hugh Grant (Best Actor, Limited Series or TV Movie), and Donald Sutherland (Best Supporting Actor, Limited Series or TV Movie).
Also receiving multiple nominations were
THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT – the first ever for HBO Max programming – and SHOWTIME’s
THE COMEY RULE. The former was recognized for Best TV Series, Comedy, with a Best Actress nomination for Kaley Cuoco, who turned heads with her nuanced performance as a fun but reckless flight attendant named Cassie whose lifestyle choices come back to haunt her. The latter racked up two acting nods, in the Best Actor, Limited Series or TV Movie category for Jeff Daniels, who played James Comey, and in the Best Supporting Actor, Limited Series or TV Movie category for Brendan Gleeson, who played Donald Trump.
HBO’s
LOVECRAFT COUNTRY, which pushed so many envelopes in terms of both storytelling and visuals, received a coveted nomination for Best TV Series, Drama, while Matthew Rhys was recognized for his work in HBO’s
PERRY MASON in the Best Actor, TV Series, Drama category.
Don Cheadle, of SHOWTIME’s
BLACK MONDAY, and Ramy Youssef of STARZ’s
RAMY are among those nominated for Best Actor, TV Series, Comedy. Youssef won the category last year, so he’ll be looking for a repeat.
Notably, Crave programming achieved a clean sweep with all five nominations for Best Actor, Limited Series or TV movie. The afore-mentioned Grant and Daniels are joined by Bryan Cranston for SHOWTIME’s
YOUR HONOR, Ethan Hawke for SHOWTIME’s
THE GOOD LORD BIRD, and Mark Ruffalo for HBO’s
I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE.
The nominations were announced by Sarah Jessica Parker – who has made headlines recently with the confirmation of the highly anticipated reboot of HBO’s SEX AND THE CITY – and Taraji P. Henson. The GOLDEN GLOBES ceremony will be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
