About Lauren Chan
Lauren Chan is a model, editor, entrepreneur, and television personality whose career centers on expanding visibility across size diversity, 2SLGBTQ+ communities, and AAPI representation. After making history as Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s first out lesbian cover star, Chan returned to the issue in May 2026, continuing to redefine representation on a global stage.
Chan began her career as a fashion editor at Glamour, where she was widely recognized as a driving force behind the rise of body diversity in media. She later founded Henning, a luxury plus-size label produced in New York City, which was acquired by Universal Standard in 2023, making her one of the few emerging designers to successfully sell her brand.
Expanding into entertainment, Chan has built a strong on-screen presence across North American television. She has appeared as a guest judge on CANADA’S DRAG RACE and PROJECT RUNWAY CANADA, competed on THE TRAITORS CANADA, and is a frequent guest host on THE SOCIAL. She regularly covers red carpets and conducts celebrity junket interviews for ETALK, where she has also served as an official Oscars correspondent. Lauren will also be joining the cast of the new season of HEATED RIVALRY. She is also an editor-in-residence at Who What Wear, where she explores the intersection of queer identity and fashion in a monthly column. Lauren regularly walks New York Fashion Week, appearing in shows such as Christian Siriano, Christian Cowan, and more. She is also currently working on her debut book.
