BARRIE, Ontario (December 1, 2016) – CTV Barrie is building a mountain of toys to make the festive season even brighter for local families in need with its annual TOY MOUNTAIN campaign in support of Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions. Running now through Thursday, Dec. 15, anyone can take part in the campaign by dropping off new, unwrapped toys, gift cards, or by making a cash donation for local children and teens. Donations can be dropped off at CTV Barrie (33 Beacon Road) throughout the campaign Monday-Friday, from 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., as well as at Tilemaster (79 Anne St. South) on weekdays and weekends during business hours (check website for times). “Over the years, our viewers have demonstrated the true spirit of the holidays by making the TOY MOUNTAIN campaign a part of their holiday tradition by giving so generously to help families in need,” said Mike Boothman, Managing Producer, CTV Barrie. “We are honoured to uphold this annual tradition, and are thankful for the generous contributions of our viewers in support of a great cause.” On the final day of the campaign – Thursday, Dec. 15 from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m., CTV Barrie reporters will be on site at the campaign’s TOY MOUNTAIN Drive-Thru Toy Dropoff, located in the north end of the Barrie Molson Centre parking lot (555 Bayview Drive). Viewers are encouraged to meet the CTV Barrie team, drop off a donation, and help TOY MOUNTAIN build the biggest mountain of toys in campaign history. The TOY MOUNTAIN campaign is made possible with the generous support of its sponsor, Tilemaster. Since its inception, CTV Barrie’s TOY MOUNTAIN has gathered tens of thousands of toys and generous cash donations for the children and teens who depend on Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions (formerly the Children’s Aid Society of Simcoe County). The TOY MOUNTAIN campaign is upheld by the strong and longstanding partnership between CTV Barrie and Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions, with CTV Barrie driving promotional efforts, while collection and distribution logistics are managed by Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions.
