CTV Barrie Launches Annual Toy Mountain Campaign, Beginning This Week

Barrie, ON (November 26, 2013) – Kickingoff  this week through Dec. 20, CTV Barrie’s Annual Toy Mountain Campaign insupport of The Children’s Aid Society of Simcoe County returns to make Christmasa little brighter by providing unwrapped toys and cash donations to more than800 local families in need. Last year, CTV Barrie’s Toy Mountain collected more than $55,000 intoys, gift cards, and cash donations, giving hundreds of children the joyous Christmasthey deserve.

“It’s amazing how generous our community is in giving to these kids andfamilies who can really use the help,” said Ruth Anderson, News Director at CTVBarrie.  “It’s a very special effort that brings together our communityand our staff, and we’re proud to be partof this longstanding holiday tradition.”

Again this year, CTV Barrie will get help from the South Simcoe Police whowill be “Stuffing a Command Post” – building a mountain of toys at various Bradfordand Innisfil drop-off locations. 

Donations can be dropped off at the CTV Barrie studios Monday to Fridaybetween 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 33 Beacon Road. The South Simcoe Police willhave their mobile Command Post at the Canadian Tire in Bradford on Friday, Nov.29, the Walmart in Bradford on Saturday, Nov. 30, and the Tanger Outlet inInnisfil on Sunday, Dec. 1.

For more than a decade, CTV Barrie’s ToyMountain has gathered tens of thousands of toys and generous cash donations forthe children and teens who depend on the Children’s Aid Society of SimcoeCounty.
