TORONTO (May 12, 2016) – CTV serves up a helping of original flavour with an all-new special, ETALK PRESENTS MAKING THE CUT: MASTERCHEF CANADA, premiering Sunday, May 22 at 7 p.m. ET/AT, 9 p.m. MT, and 10 p.m. CT on CTV and the CTV GO app (visit CTV.ca to confirm local broadcast times*). The standalone, one-hour original special is hosted by ETALK Anchor Ben Mulroney, and highlights the most memorable culinary moments from MASTERCHEF CANADA’s current third season. The special also features exclusive interviews with the Season 3 Top 10 home cooks as well as acclaimed judges Michael Bonacini, Alvin Leung, and Claudio Aprile. New episodes of MASTERCHEF CANADA’s third season continue Sundays at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO, beginning May 29. From grueling challenges to kitchen triumphs, ETALK PRESENTS MAKING THE CUT: MASTERCHEF CANADA features behind-the-scenes footage from inside the MASTERCHEF CANADA kitchen. The special also catches up with past MASTERCHEF CANADA winners Eric Chong (Season 1) and David Jorge (Season 2) in a “Where Are They Now?” segment that chronicles their culinary journeys following their title wins. Plus, Host Ben Mulroney and Judge and Chef Michael Bonacini face-off in a cooking challenge at LUMA Restaurant in downtown Toronto, where they create their take on kid-friendly meals. “With MASTERCHEF CANADA on hiatus for two weeks, this new original special is a way for us to bridge the gap to all-new upcoming episodes of the series by giving loyal viewers additional exclusive content,” said Mike Cosentino, Senior Vice-President, Programming, CTV Networks and CraveTV™. “Following MASTERCHEF CANADA’s return on May 29, new episodes will continue until the big finale on June 19, when we crown Canada’s next culinary champion.” MASTERCHEF CANADA returns with all-new episodes the following week on Sunday, May 29 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and the CTV GO app, as the remaining Top 5 home cooks are pushed to raise the bar during a Mystery Box Challenge inspired by Judge and Chef Michael Bonacini’s world-class cuisine. Then, in a difficult Elimination Challenge, the home cooks must create both sweet and savoury dishes inspired by classic cocktails. MASTERCHEF CANADA will crown the Season 3 winner during the finale on Sunday, June 19 at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CTV and CTV GO.
