MONTRÉAL (October 4, 2017) – With Montreal’s upcoming municipal election making headlines across the city, CTV Montreal, News Talk Radio CJAD 800, and the Montreal Gazette are teaming up to host a unique cross-platform mayoral debate on Monday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. ET. Taking place before a live audience at Concordia University’s Oscar Peterson Hall, the debate airs in real time on CJAD 800 and CJAD.com, and via livestream on Montreal.CTVNews.ca and MontrealGazette.com.
CJAD 800 host Leslie Roberts moderates the English-language debate, which features incumbent mayor Denis Coderre, head of Équipe Denis Coderre, and principal challenger Valérie Plante of Projet Montréal, discussing the most significant issues facing the city.
Together, CJAD 800, CTV Montreal, and the Montreal Gazette deliver comprehensive pre-and post-debate analysis led by CJAD 800 host Aaron Rand alongside Gazette journalists Allison Hanes and Linda Gyulai. CTV Montreal reporter Caroline Van Vlaardingen will source questions from the audience to put to the candidates.
The live event is open to the public, with limited seating available. In the lead-up to the debate, voters are encouraged to send in their own debate questions to any of the following: debate@cjad.com, montrealdebate@ctv.ca, or debate@montrealgazette.com.
