EDMONTON (December 5, 2013) – In the wake of the deadliest Philippine typhoon on record, CTV MORNING LIVE eagerly lends a helping hand in support of Canadian Red Cross Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts with a very special fundraising event. Taking place on Tuesday, Dec. 10 from 5:30 – 9 a.m., CTV MORNING LIVE partners with Chateau Lacombe Hotel, where co-host Stacey Brotzel will be on location reporting live.
Edmontonians are encouraged to stop by Chateau Lacombe (10111 Bellamy Hill), enjoy a coffee and muffin, and make a cash donation. In addition to on-site donations, the public can also donate through the Canadian Red Cross website or by calling 1-800-418-1111.
“Traditionally a time of giving and celebration, this holiday season there are millions of people in the Philippines who are struggling just to survive,” said Brotzel. ”This tragedy unites us all, and CTV Edmonton is committed to raising awareness of this effort as we galvanize our community to aid those in desperate need.”
This latest effort complements Bell’s commitment to support Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts, which have included a $100,000 donation in support of the Canadian Red Cross, and a commitment to help Canadian Filipinos stay up to date by providing free access to Tagalog language channels on Bell Satellite and Fibe TV through the month of November.
As a longtime partner, Bell Media also supports the Humanitarian Coalition’s Typhoon Haiyan fundraising campaign with airtime for TV and radio ads, plus space for banner advertising across a range of Bell Media websites including CTV.ca and TheLoop.ca.
