CTV News London Correspondent Daniele Hamamdjian covers all four days of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration in the exclusive half-hour special
REPORTER’S NOTEBOOK: QUEEN’S PLATINUM JUBILEE, premiering
Friday, July 1 at
10:30 p.m. ET on CTV News Channel,
CTVNews.ca, and the CTV News App. The special then airs on CTV News Channel at 11:30 p.m. local time in all markets, immediately following CTV NATIONAL NEWS. It will also be available for on-demand viewing on Crave as of July 2.
The special features Hamamdjian’s reflections on covering the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, a celebration of Her Majesty’s historic 70-year reign. It also examines the recent turmoil within the Royal Family – the alleged feud between Prince William and Prince Harry, public perceptions of Prince Charles and the prospect that someday he will become King Charles – and what that would mean for the future of the monarchy itself.
“No matter what one’s views are on the Royal Family, many see Queen Elizabeth II as a separate entity,” said Hamamdjian. “The tremendous turnout for her Platinum Jubilee is a testament to the UK’s deep affection for Her Majesty. Whether that affection can and will transfer to Prince Charles is the major question facing the British monarchy.”
Hamamdjian leads the special, along with contributions from Director of Photography David Iacolucci and Editor Angelo Altomare.
