TORONTO (April 29, 2025) – As Canada’s most trusted source for news, CTV News’ ELECTION 2025 primetime federal election special led all networks on Monday evening with the most-watched election night special, and record-breaking results across digital platforms. The CTV News special attracted an average audience of more than 1.8 million viewers in the 9 p.m. ET – midnight coverage window, leading its closest competitor by 6%. Anchored by CTV’s Chief News Anchor and Senior Editor Omar Sachedina and Chief Political Correspondent Vassy Kapelos, the primetime special, airing across CTV, CTV News Channel, CP24, and BNN Bloomberg, also delivered Canada’s most-watched coverage in the key Adult 25-54 demographic, +12% ahead of its closest competitor. CTV was the most-watched conventional network for federal election coverage on Monday evening, with an average audience of 1.2 million viewers, leading its nearest conventional competitor by +35%. CTV News’ ELECTION 2025 special reached a total of 9.1 million unique Canadian viewers, +28% more than its closest competitor.
