HALIFAX (April 23, 2020) – In response to the tragic events in Nova Scotia last weekend, CTV News delivers live coverage of NOVA SCOTIA REMEMBERS: A LOVING TRIBUTE FOR THOSE WE LOST, a virtual vigil paying tribute to the victims, airing tomorrow (Friday, April 24) at 7 p.m. AT / 6 p.m. ET. The two-hour special airs across Atlantic Canada on CTV Atlantic and CTV2 Atlantic, nationally on CTV News Channel, through iHeartRadio stations PURE COUNTRY 99.5 and BIG DOG 100.9 in Truro, N.S., and through live streaming on CTVNews.ca. CTV Atlantic’s Steve Murphy hosts CTV News’ coverage of the vigil, which features musical performances along with messages of support and hope from dignitaries and notable figures with a special connection to Nova Scotia, including a message from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Organized through a grassroots movement in Colchester County, the area at the centre of the tragedy, the vigil allows Nova Scotians and all those who share in grief for the victims a place to gather virtually while respecting physical distancing. The group’s website features links to a number of Go Fund Me campaigns in support of the families of the victims. Community members have also started a Facebook page for Canadians to leave tributes to those who lost their lives, as well as messages of condolence and support. Canadians can access up-to-the-minute news through CTV News’ digital and social media platforms, including CTVNews.ca, the CTV News app, and @CTVNews on Twitter.
